the republicans want to keep going with neoliberal reaganomics allowing more and more people to become impoverished and homeless and suffer as well as restricting people's rights and forcing religious values on others, and many of the democrats (like biden) basically have the same economic views and don't actually want to help anyone, plus many dems want to restrict firearms meaning they want to take away possibly the most painless and lethal CTB method. i also highly doubt either party will end up legalizing voluntary euthanasia for anyone who wants it because they are sadists

there is zero reason for a government to give support for euthanasia ,
think about if you were a politician , you are going to spend your campaign money wisely in such a way it promotes your narrative / solutions so you can attract new voters and hopefully make sure they vote for you next time but legalizing euthanasia will get you a few votes but those votes will literally die the next election , like 100% of them

so thats wasted money. euthanasia would only be legalized in any situ as part of a bigger narrative - maybe in the future like an extension of the pro-choice agenda

for republicans they are too far from the whole ideology and their voter base is too indifferent
