Yes it must be because sleep is the cousin of death.

No. If I feel sleepy (not that usual) I just try to catch some . Lately I have a lack of it.

Actually no! It's the opposite for me. When I'm sleepy I don't think about anything but sleep. When I wake up though, that's when I'm all for dying.

Maybe it's because you're tired and have less energy to inhibit those suicidal thoughts?

For me, it's the opposite. I became really suicidal right after I wake up. At night, my urge to sleep surpasses the will for ctb. My thoughts tho, gets worse at night when I'm sleepy.

Oh but I have this. When I didn't sleep well, the whole day feels like total pain and I became really suicidal.

Maybe it's because I like sleep so much that I want to never wake up

Yes this is how it is for me. I tend to get more anxious and suicidal as the day goes on and my brain gets more tired.

I feel like I've seen more reports of people saying they feel worse in the morning than at night. It makes me wonder if there is an explanation for the difference between the two camps (worse at night, worse in morning).

I've always had a hard time falling asleep. I usually get sucked into obsessive ruminations about how I hate myself and that life is hopeless. This can keep me awake for hours and the anxiety can get pretty intense. Do you have difficulty falling asleep too, InTheAirTonight?

Yes I need to feel fully tired and drowsy before I can sleep.

I generally tend to be more inclined to thoughts of ctb before I fall asleep and after waking up. Though, especially in the past week, it's been a constant yearning for it.

Yes, same here. I think of ctb every night it seems, regardless of how pleasant my day may have been. My inhibitions are lower, I suppose, so my mind is more prone to wander in that direction. I wonder why that is
