recently, i've been getting unauthorized fraudulent charges made on my bank account. either my deranged ex is trying to use my info to buy himself food from ubereats or a random stranger got a hold of my info somehow and it's stressing the hell out of me. for context, my abusive ex had a history of doing this to his previous girlfriend, he tried to use her card info to buy himself sushi from ubereats because he was hungry and i told him to stop. now it's happening again and i don't recognize these charges. i've contacted three companies and am currently in the process of getting my refund. though i still want to investigate further if it was actually him so i can press criminal charges. i've tried calling and texting him months prior to our breakup to remove my card info and he refused to answer me back. if it does turn out to be him, im going to be furious.

When you contact the card fraud department, they can put a freeze on it so the number will not work anymore.

You might want to ask for a new card, and add extra protections onto it if this seems to be a recurring issue. The card company is usually happy to help you keep your account secure.

This has happened to me particularly during my international travel to sketchy places... like New Jersey...

You did contact your financial institution, yes? That's the most important thing. They will investigate all the charges you tell them were unauthorized and if necessary issue you a new card.

it's happened when i've tried ordering from ubereats or domino's... i get these weird transactions i never paid for.. so it's hard to pinpoint who did it as i've tried calling several companies and they cannot track the person or the account thats using my card. it could be my crazy bitter ex, but it might not be him either.

yes, i'm still disputing charges made yesterday, the good news is that im getting refunded, the bad news is that i don't know who did it. the only prime suspect is my ex, (maybe he was testing the waters to see how much he could get away with?) but it could also be a random hacker that got access to my account. safe to say that i might delete my uber account for good as soon as a i get a new card.
