It's not for everyone, it's not for me

"We're children of God. We long to be with him. This world has nothing for us"

I never realised just how similar my mentality is to a Christian who awaits the rapture.
  • Both desperately hoping that ourselves and others will finally escape
  • Both fatigued with life and unwilling to continue but unable to stop
  • Both pleading that some outside force finally comes to our rescue
I think I finally get rapture psychology (at least some aspects of it). They hope for departure from Earth and union with God, and salvation for their family and friends. No decisive, dangerous or cavalier action is required, just continued faith. Maybe they get killed by a car through no fault of their own and get to skip the second half of their life to get straight to heaven. At least in these specific aspects, I see a resemblance to myself.

Yup I totally get it too, just need to have every ounce of scepticism, doubt and critical thought removed and I'd be right there with them in the End Times.
