Hello everyone. Recently, I posted a similar thread but it received no replies. I considered making a poll for this thread but am new to the site and not sure how to do that. Also, I'd appreciate to read posts with a bit of detail from S-S members who live in Black/Hispanic etc neighborhoods with drugs and crime.

I'm from a fairly large city in the U.S. but do not have many friends or know people connected to guns and drugs. Having seen online that it is easy to buy drugs in cities like Philadelphia, I became curious about the streets as a possible way to source items. I would like to have a reliable method or two to use if I decide to CTB in my later years.

If you live in such an inner city neighborhood, how difficult or easy would it be, in your opinion, for a random person from your neighborhood to buy drugs or a weapon? Would you consider it easy or difficult for someone from a different area / race / etc to buy these things in your neighborhood?

Any member with a view or opinion on this topic, please feel free to weigh in. I would appreciate a broad range of opinions.

Important: this post is only intended for general intellectual conversation; I do not wish to break site rules, and am not soliciting any product, service or specific advice.

Not at all, but then again I'm a straitlaced nerd who doesn't hang out with the kinds of people who deal drugs other than weed. I wouldn't have the foggiest idea where to find black-market weapons or drugs, except maybe on the dark web. (And I don't use crypto, so that's out, too!)

I would never buy a gun but I know plenty of ppl who have drug contacts that all seem reliable. Guns are a completely different thing. I would not trust anyone for that

Thanks for your input; I would think that someone who has reliable drug contacts should find it easier to purchase a fire arm, because the dealer is likely to know someone involved in that. You'd still need to be careful and trust your dealer, but considering how many guns end up on the streets in the U.S. every year, it should not be all that hard, it seems.

Of course, a lot depends on individual people, how social and comfortable they are communicating with people from these markets, etc. Some would find it a lot more difficult than others, even to find reliable weed connections.

I would not personally, and I wouldn't suggest it to others. You can get a prescription for anything you can find on the streets (see Hamilton Morris on Joe Rogan) and there are more firearms than people in this country, so going about one that way is just not necessary.

I wouldn't have a clue how to go about finding either. Way back in the day I could find marijuana when I needed but UT was almost always because my wife had friends who knew somebody. I live in California and its now been legal here for a long time but I do t even smoke anymore. It just makes my cognition even worse and gives me anxiety.

If I did know where to go I would have no problems buying a firearms or something like fentanyl for the purpose of ctb. Fentanyl sure does sound like a reliable way to go. I would never touch it for recreational use though. Its strange but ever since my psych drug withdrawal even Vicodin makes me extra agitated and shitty feeling. I can't even drink a cup of coffee.

"and there are more firearms than people in this country, so going about one that way is just not necessary."

Not sure what you mean by this, because many American citizens are unable to legally purchase guns for various reasons. For example, I live in one of the most difficult states for this, and there are no gun stores for dozens of miles. Many others are unable to legally buy because of mental or criminal reasons.

Thanks for your Joe Rogan suggestion, I'll check it out. However, it still seems to me you need reliable people to write any prescription, so it's not necessarily an easy solution, either.

Your prophecies, are of the self fulfilling variety. These things are unobtainable, because you make them so. There are three things in this country that are easy to come by: drugs, guns, and capital. You have access to the entirety of human knowledge at your finger tips, use it well my friend.

I know that you probably mean well, but your suggestions still don't really make sense to me. I'm not sure whether or not your beliefs / convictions in certain things come from your upbringing in American culture. Because, if obtaining things like drugs, guns and some basic capital was as logical and straightforward as you are insinuating, most Americans would not be complaining about a lack of access to them- including members of this forum.

Well, at least hopefully your personal knowledge about these things would serve you well, if you decide to make use of your knowledge and resources.

I never had any issue buying a firearm, although I didn't buy it off the street, so to speak, from some unknown, seedy character. Although I don't take drugs of any sort anymore (used to smoke marijuana), I don't think it would be that hard to obtain in my city. I can think of a few choice places right now where I think all one would need to do is verbalize a few key words to others in that area and sooner or later one would get a positive response and the product they seek. On the other hand they may find themselves jacked-up to. That would always be a concern.

Thank you for your perspective. It probably comes down to who you know on a friend level. Looking back on it, even back in high school, there were kids from the hood who would occasionally say something about being able to easily buy guns and drugs. "Putting caps in peoples' assess" was an occasional but pretty funny running joke in those times, popping up in school hallways like a shark in a bathing suit.

No, I specifically stipulated in my post that I was not looking for specific advice- even if I was, it would be foolish to expect such a thing, on a complex and individual circumstance, from online strangers who you do not intend to meet. Web searches did little-to-nothing for me. This is the kind of thing that requires communication with well-meaning individuals, and you can't expect that from strangers on the street.

Unfortunately I don't know or hang around anyone who sells drugs but if I did I would absolutely buy from the street if I could. My preferred way to go is fentanyl due to chronic pain suffered from a severe car accident. feel like at this point even trying to die is difficult like the rest of my life.

Thank you for the post, sorry to read about your hardships. Please be careful if sourcing any drugs on the street from people you don't know. Drugs seem to require some research and knowledge in their use. Try other, legal, pharmaceutical options, and look into things like CB therapy and meditation- the latter particularly has shown evidence of efficacy in people with chronic pain. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I got scammed trying to buy drugs off the street in Baltimore. I gave the guy some money and he gave me a bag of fake stuff. I always laugh when they make it seem like drugs are easy to buy from the time you're a teenager. No doubt it is to some people but really you need to know someone.

If you buy a gun off the streets of America, and it had been used in a murder, should you get caught with said gun in your possession, you would be at the very top of the list as a murder suspect. With street drugs you never know what you are getting, and there is the added cachet that you go to prison form drug possesion.

Sorry about that. I think most people who are into drugs have a friend or two first recommend them a dealer they've bought from. Personally, I don't know anyone into drugs and also who would not gaslight me about using them; otherwise, I may have considered buying through such a friend or acquaintance. Hopefully you did not get scammed out of more than 50 dollars. It doesn't makes sense to me to gamble more than this on street people you don't know.

yea getting shit of the streets is sketchy at best, always run the risk of getting robbed, getting bunk dope or worse. as for firearms i think accessing one thru a friend/family would be easier, but not my method and i wouldn't want that on their conscience.

Those risks exist, but there may be other options. The film Taxi Driver has a good scene where Travis Bickle bough new stuff from a traveling dealer at a hotel.

It just sucks that it has to be so complicated in real life.

If you just roll up into a neighborhood asking for drugs they will suspect you of being a cop. They could just sell you some bunk drugs for a laugh. Could rob you in the wrong place. And getting a gun that's not really going to happen unless you have strong connections with people who know you well. It's not illegal to buy a gun so I'm not sure why you'd try to get one from someone off the streets. That's usually done by people wanting to commit murder and want an untraceable gun or by those who can't get a gun legally.

Do you live in the U.S. (just curious, don't mean to offend)? You can't just walk into a store that sells guns and purchase one off the shelf. The business would require you, as mandated by the government, to pass a background check and fill out forms. A significant percent of the American population is unable to satisfy these requirements, for various reasons. Most gun shows also require the buyer to pass the same BG check, and if you want to buy online, the store has to ship the weapon to a gun store local to you to do the BG check before you can pick it up.

I know a friend who got a gun. As far as I know unless you're a suicide risk or have a criminal record you can get a gun.

Unless I'm mistake, at least 20-25% of the adult U.S. population has some kind of criminal record, though I don't think that small crimes are enough to permanently ban someone from buying fire arms. There are also issues like mental health, hospitalizations for depression or attempts, and so on.

I'm not American, but this is universal: buying drugs from strangers, hell even from people you know through a friend or something, is always risky. The product can be impure; it can have something added to it that could be dangerous, etc. I imagine guns would be "safer" as in you can easily take it apart, check the parts, test the gun, etc. Of course this is all illegal and I'm not advocating for anything.
