• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I called the suicide hotline earlier today.

Someone else got really angry that I talked to the hotline people about what was happening.

I don't know if there's anywhere it's safe to ask for help.

Why did someone get angry? If it helps you, great. That's a good thing.

The hotlines aren't inherently bad, but a lot of people have negative experiences with them. I resorted to calling a couple of times, and it was not good. But that was due to a crappy volunteer answering the call and the fact that there was over an hour wait time to even talk or busy signals.

But calling them isn't bad. They help some people.

This is a safe space to seek help. Nobody here can fix things for you, but there are lots who will listen and help guide you toward real life help.

I'm one of the people who's had negative experiences with them. I know that even if the individuals are compassionate they're beholden to authoritarian institutions. But I was desperate. Am desperate. Thank you.

The ones in Ireland arent bad. But its not as though they will solve my problems which at times seem overwhelming.

Are you UK based there is a text service, can't pass any judgement on it but think it would be the way that I would feel most comfortable with

There are discord servers where you can talk to people about your problems and they can help you.

The respite space actually accepted me but then I was too scared to go even though I went once before and it was fine. Now it's covid-time, having more social anxiety, some other stuff too... They also have a warmline though...

I am trying to remember that there are instances where people I thought were writing me off actually wanted to listen to me, where people didn't take the abusers' side because of social cred.

Maybe I can find a psychologist who is angrier than me. When someone else is super pissed at the machinery, it's a relief, I think, oh good they've got it covered, now I can put it down for a minute...

Someone I was seeing because they thought that the cops were going to come to their house but I walked away and told the hotline operator I'd be alone outside so that was never going to happen

I'm sorry someone got angry at you for trying to seek support for yourself. I hope you're doing okay right now and that you found someone supportive to talk to about what you're feeling  We all need that at times

But I need to be attacked for absolutely every other thing I do too

There is no way to make it stop

...

I talked to someone at the colorado peer support line

I wrote to the 'advocates' at 'loveisrespect'

I tried asking 'Project LETS' for resources

I asked international solidarity organizers if they knew any good / politically/ethically aligned counselors

...

I need help
I really need help
