In India It is everywhere, almost all the pages on socials media once in a while share a post mocking gay men, effeminate men or they share post where they define how a real man should be, they say that you become a real man after life breaks you and bleeds you and you fall on your kneees.
They mock depression and mental struggles , they say as if it is a choice and not a disease. This is all very toxic. The Bollywood movies propagate the same idea.
I wish I had the option to migrate to some liberal progressive western country. But my parents won't move with me and I can't leave them since they have gotten old and also have health issues.

I've been giving this some thought recently since an old acquaintance of mine told me this is basically what I was like at Uni.

I remember back then, personally what I was trying to break out of was victim mentality. I didn't like the person I became when I blamed other people or circumstances for my problems. It felt whiny and negative. And like it couldn't be solved. My first girlfriend in Uni broke up with me because she got sick of me complaining about everything. And it was pretty much then that I just flipped. And decided you know what, victim mentality is what makes losers into losers. I have to take responsibility for everything in my life. Quit making excuses. And once I had flipped like that, I stopped accepting the people that were like me before and probably became a bit extreme, before I slowly became laid back about it and stopped expecting others to live by my standards.

Nowadays there are guys that take this to extremes that are ridiculous and they essentially form the toxic masculinity culture I think you're referring to. But I think it helps to see the sort of person they're trying to fix. For people who just endlessly whine about everything and never do anything about it, someone like that is probably giving the best advice they can hear, if they're open to it. The core of taking self responsibility and removing victim mentality I think is useful.

But it's not a complete solution. Mocking depression is a good case in point. I'd say I did that back then. Because my idea of depression was mostly self inflicted. It was usually temporary. And could be fixed through recontextualising the problems. E.g. So someone stole all your money, now you're going to wallow in pity and spiral into depression about it? No! Get some window cleaning supplies and door knock to get your money back. Learn what the real world is like! This was the right attitude for me. I mocked the "depression" in myself correctly, but in others incorrectly. That's not the type of depression most people here experience. And that's a blind spot for the toxic masculinity crowd. They don't understand that.

Now I view them like pretty much any group. Some of their advice is good, particularly for people who were like me back then, some is bad, mostly due to assuming others are like them or incorrect intentions. That's the nature of the group mostly being young and stupid and still working it out while masquerading a confidence that isn't rooted in anything. The tendency is to overshoot the mark and double down rather than find balance. I actually feel now that I could help them out if they wanted to listen. Refine their message to the core of what's important and lose all the extraneous stuff everyone hates them for.

Liberal countries are not free from this bullshit too. That's why you have the cancerous manosphere with Tate, Gains, and Sneako.

Bunch of dick riders. They don't know how the real world is. They just ride patriarchy's dick, aim their gun at the wrong crowd, and get money.

This is literally why I want to die. Either my 11th or 12th reason. I don't care if I lose to men like this.

The world is shit. There are forces controlling it and the masses are too stupid. You don't have to feel bad about it. It's just shit.

My biggest problem and something for the life of me I can't figure out is why do these group of people have to be hateful and hostile towards each other?

Like say you want a traditional household and life and marriage and whatever. Awesome. Good for you. You can be positive about it, you can share your experience without the need of being an ass towards people who don't share this lifeview.
And vice versa: if you live in a non traditional way or household and you share some more unique worldview. Awesome. Good for you. You can be positive about it, you can share your experience without the need of being an ass towards people who share a more traditional approach to life.
