How reliable is the tourniquet method (if done with an actual tourniquet) and its variants (e.g. ratchet tie-down)? Specifically, what is the risk of it coming undone during convulsions? I'm aware that a bag can be used to increase the chance of death, but that is not foolproof.

I don't believe it's very reliable, I've only ever heard it discussed here.

Chris Docker mentions it in Five Last Acts. There have been confirmed deaths with compression (other than ofc partial) and a tourniquet specifically.
