to those who are trying to get this site taken down and destroyed and have people on here punished for 'manslaughter', do you realise the consequences of the loss of this site? this is the only safe and open space ive found to talk about suicide without being hopsitalised and honestly its kept me alive longer. if this site is taken down YOU will be the reason i caught the bus as quickly as i will. YOU will be partially responsible for my death and probably others as well. how does that make you feel? this site has helped me more than people like you or therapy or treatment ever has. to lose this will be to lose a family, and any hope i had left for society. we dont want to cause harm here, we want to give people the choice to decide. you have no idea what its like and i sincerely hope you reconsider your points. you will have contributed to many deaths have you get your wishes and this site is removed. if this site ever goes down, remember my username, you'll have been one of the reasons i ctb so soon.

I can say that being here was, if not the only, the biggest reason I was able to even live with what I was going through. Without it, I would've broken down so much more quicker, because the mental torture of it, well, I couldn't take it. Being able to dump it here, talk to people I could actually open up and connect with, it was quite the difference to if I hadn't had a place to go to. I was very close to actually leaving, but this site may be the reason that I barely made out it; could say skimming the edge. This is a sanctuary, a refuge for those who are silenced, oppressed, alone, and unsure. We give freedom, the ability to think and speak for oneself, about oneself, to feel welcome, part of a group, and a place to figure out and find what they want. Something that so so many people need in their lives.

A lot of information on here also serves to educate people about why certain methods are a bad idea. If this website did not exist, how many people wouldn't have learnt not to drink bleach, or to slit their wrists with an electric knife? How many people would have died suffering, after weeks of hospital treatment? How many people would have survived, but with permanent disabilities, or organ damage?

I've seen countless threads asking about dangerous methods like that, and have seen countless people go away educated with the knowledge that they need to reconsider what they had been thinking of doing.

This site doesnt just serve as a library for helping people CTB, it also serves to deter people where appropriate.

This site isn't going anywhere and even if it did then someone will make one like it. You can't kill an idea, belief, or human behavior.

This is aimed at the people who signed the petition. We know most of you are hurting, but do you realize that this isn't the only place to find methods? Do you realize that many people have recovered here by just being able to have a voice without worrying about being locked up? You're only causing more pain by trying to take this place down. You'll be responsible for the people who ctb as a response to this place being banned. What would you blame if this place never existed? What options do we have besides go to a hospital and end up worse off than before we asked for help. Idc how many people sign that petition if this gets shut down, we'll rebuild again.

Despite what you think this place isn't just about talking about suicide. It's a place for people to be able to vent without censorship, people made friends here that understand them, without having to hide their pain.

This ended up longer than I expected but it needs to be said until they stop blaming everyone else for their loss.

Why are you worried? Just had a look through the page. You didnt do anything offensive/wrong, so I wouldn't worry about it.

And they only have a few hundred members, the chances of anyone you know ever being a member of that group is really unlikely.

I doubt any of the members will get in contact with you, and if they would you can block/ignore them. And they have no way of knowing who/where you are in real life. They cant hurt you with screenshots/comments unless you let them. They arent dangerous people or anything, they're just mostly sad mothers who have lost their children - they're just venting.

I doubt any of the members will get in contact with you, and if they would you can block/ignore them. And they have no way of knowing who/where you are in real life. You havent done anything illegal, so you wont end up in jail. Even if they had undercover members, if you've not done anything illegal they wouldn't be able to do anything.

If the site ever gets shut down, another similar one will show up, or it will re-emerge on the dark web.

And I think it would be very difficult for them to get us shut down. Sites of an illegal nature (like torrents sites and things like that) are hosted in countries with more liberal laws, to avoid prosecution. So even if the law were to change in the country SS is hosted to specifically ban us, I'm sure it would re-emerge in another country. And if they managed to convince our hosting provider to drop us, another one would be happy to take us on. And I'm sure that they had considered there would possibly be media attention at some point, when they agreed to take us on.
