  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I just thought I would post a video about what it feels like for non suicidal people to open up about death. I wish everybody was more open about this foolishly taboo subject.

I listened to a podcast about suicide recently, and the host said that if people are uncomfortable having convos about death, they need to suck it up because death surrounds us all, and it's something that literally everyone will have to reckon with at some point or another. He said, "I don't care if it makes you sad, people die because they're surrounded by people who aren't transparent about it."

I think the host was right to to have this conversation. I wish more people would open up and be more frank about a subject that affects us all. We are all dying and everyone close to us will die at some point. There is no point denying it anymore.

Thanks for this. I'm not sure what can be drawn from it, though, as the concept of death is so different between those that want to live, and those, like us, who don't. I do feel it is useful to, at least, help un-taboo the idea of death.

When I first saw your thread, and its title, I thought it was the start of one of those jokes that starts like, "Three men walk into a bar and"......................... Death is no joke, though, is it?

Having lived with someone who was terminally ill and succumbed to that illness, I understand where these people are at. I think it is good to hear stories from people from all sides. Society has to start being honest about death and stop shying away from it. It is natural after all but we pretend that it isn't. It is essential that we understand more about it so that we all become less afraid of it. Anyway, I'm glad you appreciated the upload. I enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for sharing. While their outlook on living life is definitely different than mine, one thing that hit me was that all of them also see death as being "set free". So I guess my thought process isn't that off.... 🤣

Thank you for sharing. I do agree that death should be discussed more openly, but I just think that many people are so distracted by life, so they see death as being something so distant and many fear it as well, as this existence is all that they know so they would rather not think about it. But we will all have to face it one day, its our only true purpose as humans anyway and I think that suicide is the best way to die, as I see it as better to exit at a time of my own choosing rather than it being out of my control.
