  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

been curious about people's thoughts on the growing options for death care post-mortem.
do you enjoy the death positivity movement? would you consider these options (aquamation, green burial, composting yourself etc.) if available where you live?

Yes, I think our ways of dealing with the dead need a bit of an update. Putting a body in a box and throwing it in a hole always felt a bit strange to me, and if you look at just how bloody expensive it can get, other options being available and better known can only be a good thing. Especially for the families of people who need a lot of medical care in their final days. A fortune spent on the person's last days, and then another fortune to deal with their remains.

I think the Tibetan folks have the right idea with sky burials, and it's metal as anything, too. But I can't imagine it'd be easy to arrange something like that for someone like me, who is not Tibetan and is not located anywhere close to Tibet. Still, these options you mention make more sense to me than body-goes-in-box-goes-in-hole, though I don't think they're available around here. Still, I'd happily go for one of those if I could.

For those curious, here's a nice overview of some options that are becoming available:
