Thoughts/ advice about slitting a throat...

I'm thinking about this method for my suicide since I feel like I don't have many options (too poor to afford an attempt at ordering any pills, guns are banned here, I think hanging is too finicky).

I'm wondering if many people here have attempted this or thoughts about it to give advice. I'm planning on using a sharp glass shard that will hopefully slice in deep in one cut. Last time time I used a sharp piece of glass on my own wrist it severed in extremely deeply but it didn't actually cut a vein. I did however lose a shitload of blood and was on the very verge of passing out just from one cut. I'm hoping if I cut in deep enough I will pass out within a minute and it'll be over too quick for any survival instinct to kick in.

Any comments how deep to cut into the carotid artery? And is there a specific part of the throat I should cut into as in higher or lower?

My only concerns are, having a scar on my own throat if I fail will be miserable and I pity the poor bastard that has to clean up the mess. But I'll do it in the bathtub so no one has to clean up too much. Obviously it's going to hurt but I'm not too concerned with that.

I don't think this would be a good method. You would have to cut quite deep and through thick neck muscles.

I tried putting a knife to my throat and wrist and I can't do it there isn't a reason for me to actually try killing myself with it the cowardice, fear, pain, and survival instincts I just want death but I am more or less not ready for CTB and I more or less won't do a CTB because family and friends and other reasons but depending on how this plays out I truly deep down in my mind want to die I know myself well enough that I don't consider suicide a sin but my existence is the problem.

I'm really urghhhhhh on the idea of throat slitting. It just strikes me as incredibly difficult to get right done on yourself. There's a horrid chance of making a God awful mess and a mucky scar and not achieving anything as you can't really see what you're doing. Once you start cutting and there's blood everywhere how will you know what you're doing?

Bad idea, not very peaceful or reliable and you will most likely suffer permanent damage. With a little research, you can obtain a better method.

I've thought about slitting my throat. The movies I've watched made it seem so easy although it's most definitely not. I wouldn't recommend it. Like the others who commented, cutting deep enough to actually die from a slit throat is tough. You'd probably have to do multiple tries with blood all over your hands. Doesn't sound good.

I would look into a different method. There is so much that could go wrong, and you could end up in a much worse situation than the one making you want to do it in the first place. Slit my wrist before, not to ctb, but tried to get as deep as I could. It becomes quite difficult when the blood starts flowing, and you reach the muscle.

Self exsanguation has the absolute lowest death rate of the methods along with otc overdose. You have a less than six percent chance of dying as factors such as quicky being too weak to complete the depth needed, as well as factors such as clotting.
Ninety four people out of a hundred live with scars and stitches and er visits after attempting with this.
I was in hospital with someone who had both opened their arm in a shockingly deep and very long cut, as well as had stabbed their own heart. They were very much alive to tell me and show what happened.

I remember reading somewhere the ways in which arteries can retract and stop bleeding on their own or stop bleeding as much. It could complicate things into stroke or cardiac arrest. It does seem to make sense though since you can feel and see such a strong pulse from that area but you can see that in your stomach too and even when very lean we know how much muscle and stuff covers those arteries there.

That is why I would prefer shotgun by a partner to the back of the skull if they know how to aim well enough but again life keeps me here the mind and body won't always cooperate when wanting to CTB or die I would even ask for God to kill me but I don't believe in such things despite that I would I have placed a knife to my wrist and throat before to calm myself down but I know I can't slit my throat to wrist but honestly why do we exist in our minds and body when we just want out of our suffering?

Yeah I think a lot of us would love to have a partner kill us. To answer your 2nd q I don't think there's a reason tbh

Don't do it. I watched a man do this on video and instead of dying like in the movies he was staggering around like a zombie. He was bleeding a helluva a lot but still wasn't losing consciousness so kept slashing away.
