Suffering is the most constant thing I can think of for a conscious being. In the wild, millions of animals get horrifically mauled and mutilated, and eaten while they are still alive a lot of the time. For humans, billions of us are born in horrific conditions, living a terrible life, and that's all they know. And of course you can be born in a "first world country" (me) and still go through a living hell.

People choose to ignore the bad, either because they'll go insane thinking about how awful this world is, or because it's not them, so they don't care. What the fuck?

Yes. Those who are enjoying life are refusing to think about how bad the whole world is I think. Because you can't possibly enjoy it when you think about animals being tortured in the most horrible ways, 2-minute old babies getting r**ed, and not to mention all the other sufferings in life. You just CANNOT possibly enjoy living like this, especially if you are a huge empath. You have to close your eyes and not even think about it if you want to keep your sanity.
But of course there's the other part of the group, and they simply just doesn't give a shit. I envy them, I wish I could be as narcissistic and cold hearted as them.

I don't know anymore. I don't understand nature either. It is one thing that stupid humans are hurting each other, but why is there so much suffering in nature? I really don't know anymore. I feel cursed for having to live in a world like this.

I don't want to add insult to injury, but this estimate could be off by a few quadrillions. The suffering of wild animals and the consequences of natural selection are absolutely wild. It makes my blood boil when people downplay this suffering by blithely claiming that it's just nature, as if that makes it all right.

It is even worse though. Itd be one thing if it was only just a couple of sociopaths who are able to overlook it, but what bothers me is that its such a widespread view. even people who are otherwise kind and nice, ive seen say that.

Yes I've seen many videos of animals being eaten alive by wild dogs and hyenas. Most animals died this way the others by parasites or bacteria.

Life has tortured Quadrillions of sentient animals including billions of humans

Search for wild dogs digging out a pumba from his hole video youtb

I worked in a nursing home . It's worse for humans imo . The difference is an animal can be eaten alive for 15 minutes until it loses consciousness but a human is kept alive with drugs , machines , oxygen tanks for years in severe pain. So 15 minutes of torture vs years

While i do agree life is objectively terrible, i can accept some prefer it to the nothingness. I don't understand them just like they don't understand us here in this forum.
