I have been working to make sure that my affairs are in order so on the final days, things will go according to plan. So just want to see if anyone have any feedback on my plan below.

Pre-planning
1. Finances
- Put my loved one as the beneficiary of the account. This means they can access the account simply by providing their identification and death certificate. This applies to most financial accounts such as checking, savings, brokerage, IRA and pension plan
- Send my loved one the list of all my financial accounts (E.g. institution name, account number, how to reach them as a beneficifairy, etc.)
- Signed up for Pet Guardian program so that my pets are taken care off when I am gone
- Paid off all my debts so no financial institution can claim my money
- Setup Google Inactive Account, which means it'll be deleted X months after no activity. This include email, documents, calendar, etc.

2. Legal
- Wrote a will and name my loved one as the person where I will leave everything. The will is signed by 2 individuals (as required by my state).
- Send the executed will in a tamper proof envelope to my loved one.

1-2 days before D-Day
- Put my pets in a luxury boarding place. Named my loved one and the Pet Guardian as the authorized person to pick up the pets
- Put some stuff in a public storage place and named my loved one as the authorized person. That way they don't have to deal with all the legal stuff trying to get to my apartment.
- Destroy all personal stuff that have no use for my loved one. E.g. secure wipe on my computers and external drive, shred all documents, etc.
- Donate things my loved one doesn't need. E.g. cloth, appliance, etc.

D-Day
This will take place early morning (like 3 AM).

1. Finances
- Transferred money using various method (Apple Pay, Zelle, bank transfer, etc.) to my loved one so they have some cash in hand while working to get the rest of my money as the beneficiary.

2. Setup scheduled emails to be sent x hours to my loved one for saying goodbye and authorities to find my body. The later one is important because my loved one will need a death certificate. The authorities need to find my body and put it in a county morgue.

3. Leave a suicide note for the first responder so they know to be aware. E.g. if it's CO2, they should wear mask.

4. Off myself

Anything else I am missing?

A suicide note with your will if you haven't already. Also depending on your method, leave a warning for first responders (like if using CO or H2S).

I'm just pulling all of my money out of the bank to leave in my safe for my mom (leaving the key to the safe with my note). She can decide what to do with it but it'll cover funeral etc costs. Feels more simple to me than her having to access my bank accounts after death, even if I name her as beneficiary. I'll also be signing all the titles to my vehicles so she can easily put them in her name or sell them. And leaving the access information for my crypto investments and wallet.

I like the idea of luxury boarding for pets. I've been at a bit of a stall figuring out how to give myself a large window to not be prematurely found vs my animals being cared for in a timely manner and not having to hang out with my body. Very good idea.

My loved one live in a different state, so I can't / won't leave a large stash of cash in a safe at my place. I also have other accounts like brokerage, IRA, etc. that cannot be liquified easily. Hence sending the case via money transfer. It's guaranteed to arrive at my loved ones bank account.

As for your pets, you can also sign up for Pet Guardian program if you want someone else other than your mom to take care of the pets.

The way you've handled your finances for your loved ones and how you are planning for your pets is wonderful. You seem like a very considerate and kind person. I wish you all the best.

It sounds like a well thought out plan and I'm sure the legal processes will work to help your loved one as you plan.

I'll have to research Pet Guardian. My cat will be happy anywhere, but my dog is old and very sensitive to new environments. She'd be happiest with my mom, but if my mom can't care for her, having a good back up plan is a good idea.

Thank you for the kind words!

Maybe this is just my upbringing and/or what I do for a living, but I believe my suffering should not extend to other or at least manage that risk to be minimal. Hence, the planning.

Honestly, I am not sure. I know the authorities will take the body to the county morgue or something similar. That reminds me - my suicide note will state to my loved ones that they're not responsible to my body. As soon as the ME confirm the death and issue the death certificate, my body can be disposed in accordance to the country morgue procedures.

Sorry, but can you elaborate on the "sort your finances out"? I believe I listed that in my post.

Anything else I need to do?

The list on your OP is very thorough. I can't add anything as I wont be going to all that trouble
Get what I need and I'm just going to do it
Im low functioning so basically incapable of doing much

Your plan is very sound.
I should probably follow your example and get going with this.

Just one thought from experience: donating things and sorting through belongings takes time. A considerable amount of time. Just like moving.

I would probably start that a bit sooner OR another solution is to hire a company that specializes in household liquidations. They sell the things that are still good online/in auctions and you could set up your loved one as beneficiary (after the liquidator's fees).

This way you only have to pick a few items that are supposed to go to specific people. Mark them/prepare boxes and everything else can be taken care off by the liquidation company.

That's at least what I was hoping to get organized.

Thanks for the advise, @wljourney!

I have been going through my stuff to donate, destroy, etc for quite sometime. My place is now "barren", for a lack of better words. The ones that will go to my loved ones are already in boxes.

One thing I have plenty that I haven't donate: alcohol. These are my stash to go through until the D-Day, but alas, I have no N now.

Are you able to delay for about three months or so to see how the situation evolves?

I suppose I could, but not sure how.

My plan have been in motion for almost a year but my mental health and life situations are deteriorating by day.

The email from D on N being out of stock was a true shock for me today and this changes everything. I am still trying to figure out what to do next...

I'm so sorry. It's so difficult when careful/meticulous plans get derailed. Maybe take a little time to "process" to make sure that you don't do anything rash? [I doubt you would do anything rash. But that's a thing that could happen to me.]

Thank you @Cathy Ames.

I am still reeling from today's news about N, so I am taking a little time to "process". Good thing my friends are here with me... their name are Jack Daniels and Coke. :)

Sorry.. just trying to see the positive in light of the situation.

Oh Hubba. I am so, so sorry. 😢
It's such a nightmare to be suddenly confronted with all this.
Bloody unfair and just cruel.
