I want to try getting out of my house more often, but I don't really have anyone to do things with most of the time. Does anyone have any ideas of places to go by myself?

You could just go for a walk if there are green areas around where you live, you can also listen to some music or taking some notes or write some thought or stories outdoors to feel it more natural and inspirational (some people I know do that to de-stress). It is simple, but sometimes it's just the simple change of your routine what you need

Restaurants, theme parks, movies. You can do all those things alone as well as with people.

Volunteer for something to do with animals?

Should only be a limited exposure to other people. And when other people are around, you can make the animals the focal point of attention.

It depends where you live?
I go swimming a couple of times a week..
I go into the city center on the bus (I live in a very small city) and I sit at the town square or go around the shops to have a look..

Sometimes I go on the train to other towns or cities and walk around there.

I would like to start volunteering maybe looking after cats or walking dogs..
Or doing something where I can be helpful.. but it's knowing the right people to talk to for opportunities:/

Check up meetup.com for group activities around your area and try to join some, it's easier to join meetup groups because everybody attends with the focus on the activity and therefore less awkwardness with the whole small talk thing, over time as you attend more you start to know more people and make friends.

Sucks that there aren't any parks nearby, though I suppose I could just take the bus there. I probably should go to the movies more, seems fun enough.

Historic houses, museums, swimming

I usually go shopping when I need something, but not much otherwise. I'm usually broke so there's not much I can buy...going to the library or museums seems interesting, I never really did that before in my old city. I'll look into it.

Not really good with animals to be honest...

The city center here isn't all that great, but I live pretty close to the place that functions as the actual city center. I only go there when I need to, but I'll try just going there to walk and see if there's anything interesting.

My favorite pastime is to try all the nearest cafes and boba shops. Though they cost money, I really enjoy just getting to sit down somewhere with a nice drink; even if it's by myself. Gives me time to catch up on homework (if I have any) or read a book.

Hop on a random bus and get off at a stop you usually don't go to, walk around, explore.

Honestly, I do most things alone. My current job has me far away from my friends and I'm constantly finding myself in new cities due to my nomadic lifestyle. I look up events on Facebook, see movies at the theater, go to large celebrations like Pride, etc. alone. Sometimes I chat people up, sometimes I don't. Getting used to doing things alone has been very freeing, though.

Yeah, seems like an interesting thing to try. There are some nearby, so I'll check them out.

Yeah; hopping on the subway and just walking around also seems interesting. I still want to visit all the stations in my city at least once.

I actually went on a park nearby a place I was the other day on the suggestion of the earlier posts in the thread; it's quite relaxing.

Gets boring after a while.

Yeah, this is the reason I made the thread...I'm not going to get someone to go with me to do stuff most likely, so it's better to get used to doing things on my own...

I don't know what to do with myself. Just spend all my free time wishing I was dead because I don't have a sufficient desire to do anything.
