  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Greetings,

despite my illness, I want to work hard.

I have worked hard. I've done documented and undocumented work (for legal reason: this is a poorly made joke). I've worked hard in a warehouse, I've worked for the homeless and ill. I have a year gap in my resume now however because I've gotten too physically ill for a while and developed severe mental issues. I don't want this, I need the money. My quality of life is poor enough, I don't want to be poor alongside that myself. I dislike playing victim to something you don't try to change, and this is why I am this stubborn.

My education was poor. This is why I had to work hard, because let's face it, the fun and high paying jobs are what you get when you finish school with amazing degree. This is on me. I do want to note that I do not apply for unrealistic jobs for myself, I apply for jobs that do not ask you of high skill or a whole master's. It's not like that, don't worry.

Of course, when the interviewer asks me what I've done in this gap, I could be honest. However with how picky modern employers are? That honestly is not a good idea. Be a little off where I am from and you get passed on to the next one straight up. And from there on it cycles.
I do understand, they want perfect employees that stay in the place for as long as possible, because looking for new ones costs money and time. ''You could get sick again, NEXT''. But good god, it is not like I am applying to be the president's 24/7 secretary and like you don't have a ton of people applying all the time because every employee is replaceable at the end of the day.

I am polite and get along with customers and co- workers, despite my flaws. I do not complain about overtimes. I am flexible between day and night shifts. I need to get out of these barracks.

Before anyone suggests, I am not showing my bare cheeks online for money..... However - thank you for reading this little rant of mine if you did.

Regards

In my experience, the working world is very arbitrary and it requires some luck to get a decent job. I've known people to get a decent job without a degree and I've also known people that apply to jobs despite being under-qualified, and then learning from a "mentor" or a more experienced team member (this usually occurs in smaller companies). I can't say I have specific advice, but It might be worth it to overstate your abilities. It's hypocritical of me to say this, since it isn't something I've done in the past, but I've seen it work before. In any case, I hope the future is kind!
