Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Throughout the years and from observations on various online spaces, be it forums, comments, or even just certain people's comments (IRL) with regards to other people who CTB'd, I found a common theme or characteristic with regards to the 'forced-lifers'. They seem to gloss over, or overlook (not really care) about the reason(s) why one has CTB'd or so, but they would do almost everything they can to interfere against those who are actively trying to leave life/sentience itself! After all, it is not the forced-lifers' life that they are interfering against or saving, but they just want to save it regardless… It's as if they are just trying to uphold the taboo of the act of CTB itself!

One example IRL I've noticed was that in my adulthood life along with groups of people, presumably a circle of acquaintances (whom are no longer together as they moved on and had lives of their own, etc.), I recall that when there was a death (if it wasn't ruled to be CTB or so, at least not officially declared or known to be), it wasn't as strongly judged or even condemned. However, when it came to CTB related deaths, people acted weird about how it was preventable and essentially pathologized said person's death as an illness instead of a free choice by the person who doesn't want to continue to live or suffer.

Anyways, this is just a thread to vent about the current climate of society with respect to forced-lifers and the ever-growing paternalism that is present in our present day society. I normally don't write shorter threads, but this is just one of them.

Agreed. I don't really understand the taboo nature surrounding CTBing one's self or wanting to except that, in America, the Judeo-Christian scaffold of this country, its values, and the propaganda fed into the minds of its citizens permits people from CTB'ing, as it's a sin to do so. I think it has something to do with corporations needing wage-slaves and the government wanting people to tax or, if you're homeless, throwing you in a labor camp or for-profit prison. Every living soul is something to profit off of, especially if you have a mental illness (or what is perceived as a mental illness, like SI for instance).

Who would continue to suffer? Mental suffering is just as, if not worse, as physical suffering, and people with the privilege of a neurotypicality, being higher on the racial hierarchy (white being the top, black being at the bottom), being male, not being poor, and having social safety nets such as family or friends genuinely do not understand what it's like to live in a world that's already trying to kill you. Until humans are treated as such instead of another cog in the machine, we shouldn't be surprised when someone offs themselves. In my eyes, I applaud their rebellion.
