I get motivated at times, I really do. But I lack one thing – a bigger motivator.

My goal with recovery is to become a functional person again. The thing is that there's nothing after that. If I win the battles with my health, responsibilities, school and whatnot...the reward is that I can keep dealing with those same things? It doesn't sound appealing.

It's the "unknown" factor. I can't be sure if life would still work out for me after recovery and it's driving me crazy.

in my opinion, the reward isn't dealing with the same problems. it's being able to deal with those problems and not be discouraged by them. it's being able to live life despite problems that arise, being able to truly be content with your life despite adversities.

recovery can be daunting, but you won't know if life after recovery will work out for you unless you try.

Some people find things to study or contribute towards, such as helping animals or homeless people. When I was feeling my worst I volunteered at a bird rescue center.

Yeah, I guess that's the harsh truth.

That's actually a great idea.
