  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Just wanting some peace

Staying alive is only prolonging the inevitable, which is to die. There could never be an actual reason to stay here, instead there are endless reasons to leave this life behind. Life is just one pointless but at the same time horrible distraction from the fact that we will eventually die someday. I see no point to suffering just to die anyway. There could never be a point to living at all. The longer that I stay alive, the more that I will suffer all for the sake of it. Our only true purpose as humans is to die. Everything in life is just a distraction, and at the end of the day everything that seems important to people is insignificant. The idea that life has meaning or value is a delusion, life is completely meaningless and we exist in the first place all for no reason. This is why wanting suicide is perfectly rational, I don't see life as being worth living at all.

How could someone not be suicidal when they realise that life is just a repetitive struggle all for no purpose. Life could get so much worse for anyone. The thought of ceasing to exist is the only thing that brings relief, non existence is ideal, so it's wrong to try and stop people from getting there. The irrational idea that suicide is wrong comes from delusional beliefs about life and people's refusal to accept death. There is no real benefit to being alive, but there is unlimited amount of disadvantages to living which means that trying to stop people from suicide is cruel. Non existence is always preferable to living, as anyone who stays alive can suffer but the dead cannot. To die is the best thing that could possibly happen to me and those who are gone are very lucky. To exist is such a terrible thing, something that should have never happened in the first place.

There is no reason for me to suffer and no reason for any of this, only I am still alive and I bet that many others are still here as suicide is not easy in every single way. All that there is to look forward to is the day in which this finally ends.

Your outlook is one from the lens of a depressive-realist. Hold onto your perception; not many see life-everything in between-death for what it is as you aptly expressed.

Life is just suffering and pain. When even breathing becomes too much, it gets heavy to deal with this nightmare. It is indeed not a gift like they call it, life itself is a punishment of constant and miserable suffering. I wish it could end.

To me it's the repeating of the same day over and over. Wake up, get through the day, go to bed then repeat. Ground hog day over and over. So done with it

I'd say there is indeed no point living unless you're able to contribute to mankind in a significant way that will leave a legacy for generations. Like, imagine what a waste it'd have been if Newton or Einstein ctb at 19 for e.g. But I suppose pretty early in life, you realize you aren't that special, like you don't have the tools necessary to be the next Newton or Einstein. From that point forward, it is indeed pointless to continue living a worm-like life which is a copy of millions of others' -- wake up, go to work/study, eat/sleep, rinse repeat. And then suffer from diseases and die painfully, only for no one to remember you after like 6 months.

I realize I'm getting into eugenics territory here but oh well.

Someone could argue that if you procreate you did to contribute to mankind in a way, that might be significant down the road. Einstein or Newton did have ancestors you know, that go back millenia. So it is not exactly an eugenic discussion.
You might not be a Bach or Chopin or an insane mathematical talent etc but a) your contribution in humanity can be a good car repair or a great wall constrruction and b) your descendents down the road might be a Bach or Newton.

So really the argument of OP is absurdly simplistic, considering the vast complexity of the philosophy of suicide. It is one thing if physical or mental suffering does not allow you to live life in the most basic way ( such as raising family or holding the most basic of jobs) or enjoy the most funamental joys of life. It is another just claiming that suicide > life regardless of the circumstances and conditions. You are going deep into Camus territority, who even him did support the perserverence despite the endless suffering.

There no unless ; forced living banter. Do anything and suddenly you're forced to stay alive. Loss of volition is recurring theme with such.
There is no reason to stay alive. for me
