  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

For example, there are probably a lot of suicidal people who never tell anyone, even including never post on the internet. They probably just stay silent, while struggling on their own (for many different reasons & factors we never really know for sure).

Some (or probably a lot) of suicidal people are probably just too tired to even say/do anything at all. Because they feel that it's all pointless, meaningless, or hopeless.

It's sad to think that perhaps all those numbers & statistics of "suicidal people" in the world therefore are probably HUGELY underrepresented, by any 'mainstream' media, articles, or even studies & researches by the so-called "experts" or "professionals" in the mental health industry, etc etc etc.

A LOT of people are probably now just struggling alone with their suicidal thoughts, without nobody knows anything at all about it. I would personally call it "the silent data", or "the silent numbers", which is probably a LOT.

Indeed!

Suicidality is a lonesome journey that one has to take on one's own - at least until they decide to seek help to a path of recovery, or to find a means to an eventual end. Luckily, this community is here for those who are still undecided on how to proceed with their life.

Who do we consider braver? Those that are open to discussion and honest about their thoughts or the silent warriors?

And there's probably an even larger number of people who are entirely hopeless but not exactly suicidal

I don't understand how anyone could not be suicidal in a world like this, to me it's perfectly understandable why so many would want to leave. As well as all the cruelty and suffering that exists, I also see life as being so unsatisfying, it's just fulfilling endless needs until we deteriorate from old age.

I don't see the appeal of life, so no wonder so many people are suicidal. To die does solve all problems after all. I get why people would remain silent as after all we live in a world where suicide is so stigmatised. People don't open up because of fear of being judged. We are all alone really as others can never fully understand what we go through as we all experience life differently.

I mention it very rarely. It amazes me how some people have never mentioned it at all. They must have incredible self control, as I was a fool to mention it to my family who don't care and who think I'm not brave enough to do it,( that's actually been said to me,) yet I still occasionally mention it to them.

Or even people that are suicidal, but dont know it. Since I was really young at the time (around 10), I didnt have the words to describe the feeling that I had had for so long. I still remember very vividly the day I realized that the feeling was: "I dont want to be alive". Ironically enough, figuring that out was the happiest I had ever been.

I think its also evident that many people just give up on life and die. We wouldn't caterogise this as ctb but many people just die because they want to. Their life journey has been completed and i think we should respect this.
