I can name someone who got pretty well off coming from a disadvantaged background. Actually three people, Stefan Molyneux, Aaron Clarey(I'm not sure about Aaron's childhood) Adam Corolla. They were both in welfare system when young, but overcame obstacles and succeeded. It definitely has some to do with iq, but also hard work over time. Most people start out poor but if u make smart decisions you can move up, but the political class tries to put a lot of obstacles in your way including shitty public schooling where u don't learn jack shit and university is now totally left leaning to further brainwash young pple. So I sympathize with young people thinking they can't move up especially if you get no real guidance from anyone about reality.
Yes in many ways Trump and the Kardashian's have had advantages to start with but they have also had good two parent stable homes, this helps significantly. If u come from a broken home it puts u at sometimes significant disadvantage. Kim has probably had some guidance to capitalize on her beauty as well as her sisters. Often is the case that one big break can suddenly open more opportunities which is what happens if u have a lot of success in one domain. The more opportunity u have the more doors open up and u end up with even more wealth. I forgot the saying, to he who has more at the beginning wether talent, looks, or brains, more will be given, to he who has less more will be taken away. Especially if you don't have enough opportunity and realistic options that you are likely to succeed at.

What really annoys me is you guys thinking "handouts" are bad, like health care. We had a conservative government in power for 9 years recently and while they did their usual tax break stuff, cater to businesses etc they didn't dare touch our health care or social welfare. Sure there are wait times for certain procedures and sure our taxes are higher but if I ever fell on hard times i won't have to worry about going to the hospital and paying anything or if I'm made redundant I have options.

Basically americans have been brainwashed to think that anything that can be remotely considered "socialism" is bad. This country is soo inhumane. They want to justify going overseas and spending trillions on war in the Middle East, imperialism, and stealing other countries' resources, killing innocent civilians overseas and u.s. soldiers, instead of using their own resources to improve america and helping their own people.
Healthcare is one example of how americans are disadvantaged compared to others, but there's several others:
Cheaper/free post secondary education
More efficient public transit
Longer paid vacations
Longer Paternal/Maternal leave
The police don't bully, brutalize, kill, or ruin people lives near as much as they do in the states.
Other countries don't have the prison for profit system with the highest number of incarceration in the world (many of those are non violent offenders- some of whom have life sentences)
Less or no censorship of toplessness or sex in the media
Legal or laissez faire attitude toward prostitution
More working holiday and Emigration options for their citizens

I do see the US dying due to the socio-economic and societal issues that plague us day to day. Healthcare and education as well as police brutality has already been mentioned, but other things that I will add are: After 9/11, we have lost a lot of our freedoms, every major event (be it big gatherings, concerts, athletic events, etc.) has lots of security and what not, can't do/say certain things or make certain jokes without it getting into legal trouble (criminally and civilly), suicide prevention efforts have become more aggressive in the years and of course mental health stigma gets worse, etc.

Given the polarization the United States is enduring, I believe that the country is currently at the start of a cold civil war.
One of the fracturing points is how divided the country is over what makes a person a citizen. If we cannot even identify and discern what citizenship is in the United States, how can we make arguments about capital punishment? Federal laws? We are so polarized and divided. This isn't even talking about the growing economic inequality and wage stagnation.

Also, unless you are insane, it's mandatory for all citizens to own a firearm. Yet were is are the mass shootings? Stable people. They dodged all the crisises that comes with being apart of the EU and skipped both World Wars.
