  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Without SaSu, I would have ended up OD'ing on Benadryl or Tylenol. Stabbing myself in the neck, or hacking my forearms to pieces.
The REAL harm reduction is information on these ideas, and how harmful they are. Anyone determined enough is going to try anything. It isn't better to live with life long injuries you caused yourself. Still wishing to be gone but maimed for life.
So thank you, SaSu. I haven't succeeded yet, but at least now I have information to reduce the risk of failing with lifelong harm. Adding to my misery.
Every one of you is much appreciated.
And for those who have PM'd me just to be there for me, I hope you know how much that meant to me. Your words were comforting, reassuring, and I never felt judged on if I succeeded or not.

Completely agree. If anything, this site has made me less likely to attempt suicide impulsively since I now know that easy to obtain methods such as pills, cutting etc are so unlikely to work. That protects me, my wellbeing, prevents me from spending hours at a time in hospital, etc.

Yeah, I'm very thankful for SaSu. I didn't fully know what SN was before I came here, and certainly not the proper procedure (or recommended procedure).

Yes, it certainly is important having access to information about suicide methods so people are less likely to fail and end up with damage. It terrifies me the thought of ctb failing. People deserve to have access to ways to leave this world and knowledge about methods so they just have more of a choice and maybe, depending on what methods people can access they might not feel so trapped here anymore.

Those who wish to deny other people information about suicide methods are so incredibly cruel, it's disturbing to want to prolong torture and make it as difficult as possible for people to achieve something so inevitable as death that we are all destined for anyway.
