  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

We need distractions. Everyone here has something. Alcohol, drugs, videogames, food, sex, anything to take the edge off.

Substance use doesn't help me, so my distraction is work. But you can't work 100 % of the time, just like you can't be drunk 100 % of the time. Your body needs pauses. These pauses are a terror. I normally fill the gaps with daydreaming, but that requires a certain state of mind and avoidance of any nonsense that tries to bring you back down to the ground.

I'm now in such a grounding episode and I don't know what to do with myself. The stupid world has completely outmaneuvered all my defenses. I haven't felt this terrible in forever and there's nothing I can do besides waiting it out.

Yes, I rely on distractions, they are important to us as humans otherwise we would go insane. Our thoughts can really torture us and I tend to overthink a lot, so I need to be distracted. Sometimes they don't really work which shows you cannot really escape from your thoughts.

I am now gaming almost literally every second that I'm not eating, lifting or doing chores. You could probably afford a pretty good gaming set-up. Gaming is a great distraction for anhedonics especially.

I wish I could focus on gaming. Most of the time these days I'm beyond even that. :c

But yeah @OP I'm sorry you're feeling this way and having trouble distracting yourself. It's literally the #1 way to cope, so without it life is truly hell. Lack of focus and direction is a bitch.

Yeah, it happens to me more and more often (honestly, most of my conscious-time at this point), it's really quite unbearable and I too see no other options than 'just' waiting it out. I'm sorry you're experiencing it right now, hope it passes soon and you can escape reality again.

The daydream withdrawal is like quitting drugs, facing my thoughts is making me physically sick, I'm not made for this.

Maybe I can find some extremely immersive games. Most games are too shallow on that aspect and don't do anything
