Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I don't meddle much with politics. I've got enough going on in my own head that I stopped watching the news years ago, it's just too much to deal with. I stay willfully ignorant on most of what's going on in both the US and the world. But as things get worse and worse, both in America and internationally, it becomes harder to ignore. I'm not saying this is it, the world is ending, because that's what every generation has convinced themselves. Every time political tensions get high people are convinced this is the worst it's ever been and we'll never recover. However, whether the world comes back in 15 years or not, what's happening right now is terrifying. The US is in the process of repeating one of the biggest atrocities in history. Violence is everywhere. There is no "good" side to chose anymore because all sides are disgusting. The US is in a recession where the amount of money I had last year would no longer be enough to support me nearly in the same way it did. Healthcare is falling to pieces even more than it already was in a broken system. I still stay willfully ignorant as much as I can because I simply don't have the bandwidth to consume all of the doom fuel, but what I can't ignore is enough to convince me that CTB rather than sitting here to see how the next 5 or so years play out is probably for the best.

The current political climate is a disaster and a major reason for my mental state. America has fallen into fascism and, historically speaking, it takes either a bloody civil war where millions die or 30-50 years to put the country back on track.

The violence within the US continues to escalate because of the division that is being artificially created and the campaign against critical thinking only widens that imaginary gap, makes Americans dumber and more violent. It's apparent that a civil war between the factions is imminent, benefitting the billionaires who will step over our bodies to steal our resources and increase their already stupefying wealth.

On the topic of healthcare, you're not wrong. It's a shitshow and only getting worse and less affordable. Proper mental health has always been deprioritized and prohibitively expensive, but now that too will become even further out of reach for many, many more. Myself included.

Things are bad, getting worse and I suspect that the suicide rate is going to skyrocket in the next few years.

For the sake of humanity around the world, I hope I'm wrong.
