Probably my favorite images to ever be taken in human history. A picture from the Voyager 1. This image truly gives us a sense of scale of the universe. We're so small compared to the vast emptiness of space. When the picture was first seen by scientists one of them said:
"look again, at that dot.
That's here.
That's home.
That's us."

i like these kinds of images. it's comforting to me to know how small we are in the grand scheme of things, that the things that happen here make no difference in the furthest reaches of reality.
