portugal screwed uruguay in a way since they were banging on portugal stomping korea. Should have went hard for that 3rd goal for insurance after the 2 goals in the first half.

Finally someone does what we've all been wanting to do.

England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v France 🇫🇷 in the quarter final. I think the winner of this game will win the tournament. Both teams look class. Would have made a good final.

I'm gutted for Japan. Genuinely wanted to hang myself after the final result. But I hope Croatia go all the way because they deserve much more then the french, or the english, or anyone else.

Japan lost in a really shitty way. Would have rather had them go out on goals rather than shitty penalties where they shit the bed.

Speaking of shitting the bed. Wtf was up with south korea. Didn't watch the game and Glad I didn't. Curb stomps are only fun to watch if I hate the team.

Spain is out! So freaking deserved... they lost against Japan on purpose to kick Germany out and to land in the easier bracket of the tournament. I am so happy Morocco taught them karma. SCHADENFREUNDE

And I am also happy for Portugal... Another team capable of beating France or Brazil.

I'm so proud of morroco. They fought hard in that game with Spain. Honestly got dejavu watching Spain go out almost in the same way Japan did. Where the first two pen takers fuck it up first.

They also went out in pens last world cup against a team they were predicted to beat(russia).

I felt bad for the Swiss. I knew portugal would win but not by that much.

Whoever wins the finals, I hope they're all on the rainbow teams side.

I dislike Qatar as much as I wish they should be treated the same as they treat LGBT. Either do not consider them exist at all, or else they just will have to suffer all the way.

Anyway, thank you Germans!

Whats that about keeping politics out of sport and "free speech"? Now that is why foreigners in arab countries will never get any of it anytime soon. Completely uncalled for provocations over nothing. Better yet, do something about opressed minority people in Belgium trashing everything, or is that just "freedom of assembly"?

Who brings religion into world cup if not Qatar? have you seen greatest da'wa scheme in history targetting football fans and encouragement to discriminate people based on sexual orientation?

I don't know what you're talking about Belgium

Brazil is out.

I never cared about football, but this time I was hoping that a world cup victory could alleviate our political tensions.
The fact that a lot of people in here commemorated the loss with fireworks shows how bad things may get around here...

Imagine a lot of people in a country know for football fanaticism cheering for your own loss. This is too bizarre.

Hmm true, I am barely holding back from saying Brazil is the new England (they have produced a BBC commemorarive documentary for every loss at an international tournament). Certainly those celebrations are in vain when it's right wing politics and money forcing 17-year old players to Europe before they can dvevelop, which correct me if wrong, but is just what was wrong with Brazil ever since 2006.

Pato, Hulk, Fernandes, then Neymar leading, then Ronaldinho briefly, now still Neymar and Vinicius ever since that time, all young million dollar players sold off, because of dropping domestic level football. All because Balsamaro and company sell it down the drain. I was rather xpecting riots just like after the election given how recently it happened, saying "look at what you've done you corrupt trash, it's all because of you we failed again". But I also understand perhaps brazilians like to let it go, and it has been long since they didn't?

Why do brazilians no longer care about football? I think it's been lthat way for decades now..

Contrast the present situation to 1994 when at the very beginning nobody expected Brazil to win after they lost for the first time ever at quals.

It is imperative to never change the league system. At least teams coming in to Serie A could use more attendance as a realistic goal. And Flamengo could stop trying to be like Al Ittihad Qatar Airways Manchester Megapolis FC with their money.

The only reason I celebrate Brazil's exit is bc they already won 5 times. What is wrong with wanting other countries to win who have never or only won the WC once?!

Clarifying my previous comment, I said "in here" like in my country, not in this site. It's perfectly reasonable for people to root for teams who never won, I'd do the same, but I find is odd for people to want their own country to lose for political reasons.

Or am I the one who misunderstood your comment and you're brazilian too? I'm a bit confused here.

You made some good points. We were already a mess and would probably lose anyway. it's just sad to see people contributing to bring politics to sports. But it has been like this in most of the world since the cold wars, hasn't it? perhaps it was even worse back then.

I would just disagree that brazilians no longer care about football. People still stop the entire country for the event.

By the way, I'm cheering for Argentina now. Go, Latin America! >.<

I will probably boycott the world cup. I am not sure whether I will be strong enough if Germany was in the final though. But I think we are out pretty early.

Don't want to ruin it for others. But in my country there is way more coverage on the ethics of this world cup than about the matches.

So Germany is already a world cup winner in hypermorality.

Who will win? My guess would be France. But I am not that deep into the topic compared to several years ago.
Second favorite Italy and then Brazil
Just wanted to remind everyone that my favorite France is probably in the final. (lol)

So far my boycott is successful. Though I watched like 4 highlight videos but not a full game. And I won't watch the final.

My favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi. Though I don't mean this as a human being. I refer only to his soccer skills. He sold his soul when he went to PSG. Maybe he already did that with tax evasion. Still I like him way more than CR7. (who might raped someone)

I am not sure who I will support in the final. I did not follow it much but Argentina did not show fair play(?). I only read the headline.

I will probably don't care much about who will win. But maybe in my sub-conscious there might be a favorite. But yet I have not found out who that is. Maybe I will know that when I will read the result. Let the better team win I guess.

Maybe I should not be that arrogant to underestimate Marocco that much. The game is not over yet.

I don't know who I want to win. Hate both countries. Argentina after Maradona hand ball cheating. France because there French. Hope France win as can't forgive Maradona in 1986.

I have a feeling the French are going to produce a 2014-style Germany vs Brazil massacre. I hope I'm wrong.
