Hmm true, I am barely holding back from saying Brazil is the new England (they have produced a BBC commemorarive documentary for every loss at an international tournament). Certainly those celebrations are in vain when it's right wing politics and money forcing 17-year old players to Europe before they can dvevelop, which correct me if wrong, but is just what was wrong with Brazil ever since 2006.
Pato, Hulk, Fernandes, then Neymar leading, then Ronaldinho briefly, now still Neymar and Vinicius ever since that time, all young million dollar players sold off, because of dropping domestic level football. All because Balsamaro and company sell it down the drain. I was rather xpecting riots just like after the election given how recently it happened, saying "look at what you've done you corrupt trash, it's all because of you we failed again". But I also understand perhaps brazilians like to let it go, and it has been long since they didn't?
Why do brazilians no longer care about football? I think it's been lthat way for decades now..
Contrast the present situation to 1994 when at the very beginning nobody expected Brazil to win after they lost for the first time ever at quals.
It is imperative to never change the league system. At least teams coming in to Serie A could use more attendance as a realistic goal. And Flamengo could stop trying to be like Al Ittihad Qatar Airways Manchester Megapolis FC with their money.
