Ordering from a menu? Frozen food section? I've been going to the wrong hospitals! At the local hospital, the medical side of the house can order from the menu. The psych inpatients get what they get... not bad, but not by choice.


(Method) Papercut with the ordering menu

The main reason here is the psych inpatient isn't at the hospitals, they're in separate buildints run by different organizations entirely... they're outsourced to by the hospitals (so you go to the ER, they will take you, they'll put you in a room meant for suicidal people, etc), BUT, they'll call the other agency who will evaluate you. you don't have a MD, you get a social worker/psycologist/psychiatrist. Downside, you may have to wait 12 hours, especially if there's 4-6 people in that day at the same time. and the psych wards are small, and no kitchen, so they outsource the kitchen to a place, and that place doesn't do vegetarian, so they just buy premade lol.

She thinks she will be gone for 5 days. I told her on day 6 we will start paging her.

She has been to this hospital many times, she said it was nice and the food was good. She won't have her phone.

I'm at least glad the hospital is nice and the food is good. I'm so upset right now. I can't believe that nearly 40 years after I was forcibly hospitalized over & over they're still allowed to do this to people! I'm crying so hard I can't even see what I'm typing!

I'm feeling very "triggered" right now. I have to take a shower today anyway, so I think I'm gonna go and do that and try to compose myself. I'm not going to sign out though. I'll stay on here. I'll be back after my shower.

Ah... Gotcha. That makes sense. The last time I went inpatient, I waited 9 hours in the ER. Then they had to medically transport me to another psych ward because that one was full.

It just brings it all back. I remember how powerless I felt. How desperate. How terrified. I was just a thing. I wasn't a human being to those people. I was a vessel through which they could get money and test their drugs. I didn't matter at all.
