I agree with everything in the article except the small pro-life bs at the end . You don't see this anywhere else.
Just related things i thought of : imo a lot of this afterlife reincarnation nde lies causes confusion, and fear of an unkown . they are not sure what will happen so they fear the unknown . will i go to hell? will i be reincarnated as a bug ?
But if you are sure it's non-existence after death I don't see how you can fear not existing since it will be like it was before I was born no problems , no chance of suffering or pain. I am sure it's non-existence forever after death for a human and other animals. It boggles my mind that humans believe in an afterlife after all the science on evolution and brain science the cell , and just observing an interacting with other animals. without even any of the science I personally can just see so many similarities between me and other animals like cats or dogs. do we not have eyes , consciousness , eat the same way have legs all the parts. then if you look inside the organs are the same any vet will tell you this. microscopically the cells are identical . a human is just cells.
The fact is the mind does not continue after death . so if I know that there is nothing after death for all time. that the mind gets obliterated forever along with the brain that creates it . then there is no unknown. then I know for sure I will forget any trauma , escape all my problems . all problems pain suffering are caused because of the mind consciousness. if you are put under general anesthesia at that time you feel no pain no suffering while under the anesthesia : they can open up your stomach and you won't feel it . any mental pain is forgotten not present under deep anesthesia unconsiouss. A corpse also can't feel pain . the mind never rises again . it's only an illusion created by the neural connections in the brain like chatgpt creates intelligence reasoning
