My life is a series of dark days that I cannot wait to end. Nothing ever goes right.
So I decide.
I'm happy and at peace with my decision.
Now I inhearit an astronomical amount of money.
Most people would be ecstatic...I don't even care. Still zero joy. This is how I know I'm doing the right thing.
Fuck money. Fuck everything.

That is very ironic. Money definitely isn't everything, even if it does make things easier. I'm sorry you're suffering, I hope it eases for you soon.

Wow. I am really glad for you. How much money are we talking about? Could you theoretically use that sum to mend some of the problems you have?

Nope. I have no feelings about this at all. I'll probably give it away. I just don't care.

Do you have any family members or friends that you hold dear and know that they could use it? Don't give it to charity. Very little of money donated to charity goes towards it's actual purposes.

Yeah. I have never found a charity worth anything. No family. I'll figure something out.

If you have the will and time, you can find individuals that need helping and help them yourself.

Money wouldn't fix my problems that are making me want to kill myself, but a little bit would ease some of my lesser problems. I just wish for enough to replace my broken car.

At least your funeral will be covered. Sorry, probably the least helpful thing to say...
Do what you feel is right for you, if you still want to ctb then do that.

OPs pm box is probably exploding right with friends and family they never knew they had. Money is a tool, but it's disgusting what it makes people do.

This probably is a test from the universe. I hope you find peace and solace in whatever you decide to do ElMow.

If you do donate it, you could consider donating some of it to animal shelters that really need it. I'm sure they could definitely use the funding, especially if it's a high traffic area.

I'm a bit confused. In previous thread you said you want your ctb to look 100% natural because you don't want your family to know ...

Yup. And they've all disowned me.

Money might not buy happiness, but it can buy contentment. Problem is, it's temporary.

Hope you can figure out what to do. If you do end up CTB'ing, be sure to find a good Charity. Charity navigator.org is a good resource.

You all are so right. Money is a temporary fix. I got so many money problems right now and if they would to all go away it would just be temporary bcuz of all the other problems that I have as well.

I understand the feeling exactly. Even if I became rich right now I would just postpone my ctb for some exploration time. But after exploring a few countries I would just do it anyway. Money isn't everything even if it helps keep you off the streets.

As long as you can get by and don't have to live in poverty, wealth is probably the most overrated thing there is. Most people spend their lives accumulating junk, not realizing it isn't worth anything. It continues to amaze me. So I get what you're saying.
I hope you find solace, peace and comfort, whatever path you choose. Hugs.

I take it by 'astronomical' you mean enough never to have to work and probably live a fairly comfortable life. In that case try to enjoy that immense freedom that most people will probably never have untill they're old and rundown.

If you are still determined to CTB it would be a nice gesture to donate to worthy charities and make the world a little less gruesome.

It's hilarious.....money would fix most people's problems here. Yet someone that has it wants to off themself. Just goes to show that money doesn't buy happiness for some. If I had it, it would solve my shit for sure. I bet the ops inbox is full of people begging for money lol

Money can open almost any doors in life. But if life has numbed you, and you have no desire to walk through those doors, money is as useless as a bag of sand in the desert.

I am sorry you find yourself in this position.

Please don't be offended, but are you sure this inheritance actually exists? Or did you just receive some random email from somone in Nigeria claiming to be the attorney for some long lost relative who just so happens to have left their millions to you? And all you need to do to claim your money is to send a wire transfer or deposit a (fraudulent) check?

No offense, but this has scam written all over it. But maybe I'm just jaded. Lol.

Fuck money. Fuck everything.

I'm an investor so I know a decent amount about finance and how to manage money.

Idk how much you inherited but IF you inherited a million dollars or more I have a recommendation for you. Don't spend that money on dumb shit like a fancy car or a big house, this is what ignorant and impulsive people do who end up blowing through their money and going broke.

Instead invest your money in assets that generate passive income. Things such as bonds, dividend stocks, and dividend etfs/mutual funds.

Depending on how much you inherited, you can potentially generate enough passive income to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working a day in your life ever again.

By partaking in this strategy I have laid out here, your wealth will generate income automatically for you and you won't even have to touch any of the money you inherited. In fact if you invest in good quality stocks/etfs your assets will grow in value over time. So not only will you be generating passive income but your underlying wealth will also increase over time.

This in my opinion is living the dream. By doing this you have something far more valuable than a dumb car or big house can ever give you. You get freedom. Freedom from ever having to work again, freedom from worrying about paying your bills, freedom from societal pressure of being "successful", also your income is passive so you can travel the world and do whatever the hell you desire.

This is my 2 cents. Feel free to PM me or ask me questions if you're interested in investing. I can help you gain an understanding of the basics of investing (investopedia is a good source) and answer some questions you may have.

Although honestly regardless of how much money you inherited, investing it is never a bad idea (although the very first thing you should do is pay off any high interest debt if you have any).

Also please really think about it before you give your money away. Money is powerful and can change your life, please really sit down and think about it, don't do anything impulsive with your inheritance.

Just goes to show that money doesn't buy happiness for some.
I'd ballpark it as 20%-80% ;) Research on triggers/causes for suicide shows something like that ..

Most will benefit having life or health improve; others are deeply suicidal or depressed, or terminally ill.

I think many would hold on to life longer if they see any improvement or easing of pain. Calm life with less worries and more options for the future can do just that. For others it's useless. Sorry for digressing

Just a thought, could you maybe use the money to metaphorically ctb? I mean if it's a life changing sum of money could you maybe move somewhere nice maybe a completely different part of the world, get a whole new identity. Maybe even alter your appearance? Be reborn so to speak.

I'm sorry that life has brought you to this point and yes, life sucks. As for money, I haven't inherited any and both my parents are still alive and around. I don't plan on sticking around for many years, let alone living to senior/elderly age. Life sucks enough as it is, and like @Quarky00 said, money will make life a bit more comfortable and helps your health, but ultimately if things suck enough then no amount of enjoyment and health will make life worth living.
