The police can not take you if you are not actively suicidal. You can try calling them and acting like you got over whatever was bothering you the other day.

Also, do you know it really was the police? I mean, if police show up at your door then you kind of know... but would police who are "concerned" about your wellness really leave a voicemail? That seems odd.

May I ask what you texted to the hotline? Would've had to have been quite severe for them to do that to you surely?

That might make sense. If they at least showed up first. I was going by the OPs post that he texted something a couple of days ago and then got a voicemail. Seems off to me for police to behave that nonchalant.

edit: I should have added... Police came to my house twice late last year. Consecutive days actually, from two different people that called them. Both times they came to the house, did not call.

Yeah weird, I wonder what point you have to be sucidal so the police can arrest you, only incident if you actually actively jumpin off bridge/building and it happened to me in my last attempt.

Ok so it's been a day and no one has shown up. Last night though i got a call from the same number and answered it. It wasnt an nhs or police number. However, they knew my fake name and my age. They kept asking for my uni's name and my location which is strange because 1. police could track my number and 2. police dont ask for my education's name. Then they threatened to send an ambulance (i dont know why not send a police officer) if i hung up on them. The lady was aggressive and shouting at me which is not something nhs staff are trained to do so i hung up. I waited all night on my doorstep and no-one came. I keep having panic attacks and it's made my anxiety go crazy. I went to the police station and they said it was probably a hoax but how come they knew the details from the conversation?

not surprised at all.
something that's supossed to help you, like a hotline, turns out to do the exact opposite and make your life worse.
i haven't ever called one or texted one neither.

This sounds very much like some kind of scam.

They're calling you at "night" after office hours, they pretend to be police and NHS at the same time(?), and they try to interrogate you for personal information. It's very much how scam callers operate. While I don't know how you local services usually behave, it sounds very off.
At best it's some misguided prolife thing, but I very much suspect something more nefarious.

I think you might want to call the police on it. Like others have said - if you're not actively suicidal they won't be interested in you. If the scam-like calls are standard procedure they'd also let you know.
Also feel free to share more information about the numbers and the supposed hotline, if you can.

I googled the number and it's an official healthcare number but i am still very confused as to what is going on as they didnt sound official and why would they send an ambulance and surely if it was reported to 999 then they would act on it instead of forwarding it on. I keep having panic attacks and it's hard to do anything because of the stress. I hope they can't track me down bc then the situation will become really bad

i told them i was planning to ctb in a week

I keep having panic attacks and it's hard to do anything because of the stress.
If they are scammers, they'll be trying to increase that stress, hoping that you'll cave and give them your credit card, or pay a therapy fee in Apple gift cards, or something.
If they're not scammers, they're at risk of getting fired.

Call the police. I think it'll be nice for you to hear them repeat more or less what I said. They might also be able to take actions against the phone line.
They can't hurt you, unless you give in to fear and willingly empower them.

Sorry to hear it escalated and wasn't police after all... so relief on one hand, more worry on the other. If it came through the hotline, there could easily be a scenario where an unscrupulous person gets a job or volunteers to work at one just so they can get info on vulnerable people to extort them. Sad, but true in our world.
