I have spent a lot of time in psych wards due to my depression. Now, doctors are smart but they can only work with what YOU give them. And with some smarts and timing, you can fool them.

If they are indicating it's a long term stay, I'd give it a couple of weeks before you start to show them "signs of improvement". Before that, be brutally honest, give them the story they are expecting to hear. Not your truth, but the truth they are expecting and wanting to hear.

Fool them. You can.

I see a psych twice a week and have been for quite sometime. She knows the depths of my suicidality. But she also believes that I am self aware enough to manage it. Which I am. I've had 6 failed attempts over the last 20 years. I do not intend for there to be a 7th.

Pretend that you are on a way of being a better more happy person. Gradually get better. Fake smile etc... After a couple of days say you want to get out early. Slowly try to convince your parents. Fake everything. Be fake happy. But not everything at first. It has to be a slow process otherwise they'll know your intent.If you're over 18 they can't hold you for more than 3 days except if they have an court order.

Of course they can hold you anyway. They have already decided either immediate need for treatment, or danger to yourself (or someone else). My best advice in general is: watch out for all the pills they want you to take. Stay calm, don't talk too much. Learn the rules! Your fellow patients might tip you on the unwritten rules. If possible, listen to music (headphones).

You have the right to refuse medication. In order to force you they need substantial evidence that you are a threat to yourself or others, and they would have to take you to court. Also, they cannot hold you against you will unless you are deemed a threat. They can only hold you for around a week or so, which is when insurance typically runs out. The only way they can hold you longer is if they make you take medication.....which you can refuse.

You need to use the Jane doe and/or John doe honourable names that they give out in hospitals.

The police, courts and hospital staff took an oath thats says they will defend protect and keep safe all honourable members/ names at all costs.

If you use these names they're not allowed to section you/ put you in a psychiatric institution and drug you because the drugs are toxic and harmful which they are fully aware of and that would violate their oath if they poison you with them.

I've been sectioned once in the UK and then i found out about and starting using the jane doe and john doe names and they can't section me now.
So i'm telling you this for a fact because i've done it.

Some examples of the Jane doe and John doe names.

Jane doe - 245
John doe - 893
Jane doe - 426
John doe - 746

You can put any number after the dash.

There's an infinite amount of these names you can use.

This only works though if the police haven't already grabbed you and put you in a psychiatric institution.

Obviously if they haven't grabbed you, you need to tell them that you're not suicidal and or self harming.

You use one of these though and they are forced by their oath to listen to you, and they cannot ignore what you're saying.

If you are already in one of these places don't bother trying to use the jane doe or john doe names because they will just try to convince you that you're nuts and they'll just drug you more.

There is one way you can get out though if they've already grabbed you.

Do a tribunal or what ever they call it where you are and use one of the free lawyers if they do that where you are.

The lawyers and judges have also taken the oath to keep all honourable jane doe and john doe names defended, protected and safe at all costs.

You use one of these honourable names in a tribunal or what ever they call it where ever you are. and the lawyer and judge will get you out of there ASAP!!!!!

They will NOT allow an honourable member to be poisoned and harmed and potentially killed with those drugs they use.

You cannot tell the rest of the staff about what you're going to do if you're going to use a jane doe or john doe name in tribunal to get out, like i said, they'll try and convince you that you're crazy.

And when you do the tribunal, before hand you need to write which ever jane doe or john doe name you choose to use ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND give the paper to the judge YOURSELF!

Don't let anyone else touch the piece of paper.

You need to make absolutely sure that the judge is aware that you choose to use and act as an honourable name.

And before anyone tries to accuse me of being a "pro- lifer"..............i'm not.

Sorry, I don't understand if you're referrering to the law or practice? I am from Norway, and in psyciatric matters, we don't have a chance in court, no rights, no lawers. Nothing, just the psyciatric staff, and they are almighty in "health matters". Maybe Norway is totally different from other countries? Really don't know, so very curious how force mental health care is practiced in other parts of the world....
