The dark island is a metaphor for a dark phase or depression in someones life. It's a person who arrives at it's shores and narrates how it is .
THE DARK ISLAND
Millions of lost souls arrive every month,
Most escape but some become permanent residents.
You feel them all around but note this,
Despite all your efforts they will never notice.
All enveloping darkness, zero emotion .
Just keep walking , there is no concept of a direction.
On the bad days you will panic in desperation,
There are no good days it's all a bland concoction.
There is no concept of time, only few joules for energy .
Remember , Your heart beat is the most important currency.
"One foot after another " that's the trope
We keep walking, the only philosophy left is hope.
When it gets tough during the stroll I close my eyes shut .
Maybe when I open them I will be greeted with some sunshine and a hug.
