The attitudes of most people towards the suicidal

Fucking hell. Reading the comments on an online discussion re assisted suicide. One person was trying to argue that for some people, there are no therapies that will help their depression and that suicide is the only option. The replies ranged from 'go kill yourself without getting medics involved' to 'if you weren't so chicken shit, you'd have killed yourself by now'. I mean......................fucking hell. These are the same people who say 'tAlK To SomOnE iF iT's tOo Much'. It's very, very obvious that people have zero empathy for those who struggle with living and that they view suicide as 'the easy way out' but also that 'life is so precious'. Which is it??? Honestly, fuck these absolute morons.

Exactly, these people are idiots. It's so exhausting dealing with morons like that. Whenever I see sentiments like that, I get so angry to where I could probably punch my phone screen right now

I suspect part of it is just defensiveness at the notion that a conscious entity can assess life to be not particularly worthwhile. They are highly invested in life, and they need life specifically their life to be extra special.

I've come to the conclusion that most people will never understand us. I just discuss my ideation anymore nor do I care to listen to anyone's else problems. I simply don't care and just waiting to die.

It's shocking that "some" people can have so much empathy for those struggling with SI, but once someone comes to the conclusion that prolonged living isn't personally for them then all the cruelty comes out. I don't understand what they expect to achieve with that kind of behavior.

A stranger who expresses that the benefits to their continued existence isn't up to scratch getting a mob encouraging them to CTB in the worst possible way only justifies their reasoning. People want to proselytize about struggle and the goodness of life while acting in way that makes it embarrassing to live.

Everybody is inherently selfish. Its runs in our nature to survive. That is why suicidal people tend to be the most selfless ironically. People who value life and love life tend to not like the thoughts of selfless people.

There was a blog back in like 2006, 2008, something like that, called 90 Day Jane. It was gonna be a documentation of the last three months of her life before she ended things. And almost every single response was just like… the most horrible things you can think of. Telling her that if she's gonna die she should fuck them first, that's on the way lighter side of what was said. As if her decision made her unworthy of respect.

I think a lot of people have really strongly ingrained punishment-based ethics, and they see suicide as being the same thing as murder, and they see both as unforgivable.
