I have a pet fish named Hikari, named after the Japanese word for "Light".

With my love of pet fish, I built an aquarium from scratch with only parts from my local department store to make sure she is safe. Being pure white, she stands out in the tank and is easy to tell if she's thriving.

I feel weird having her, enclosing her in a restricted environment for my entertainment, with exploration limited and nobody else to communicate with. I don't know if I want to buy another fish. I know it's the best for her health to be enclosed in glass with healthily filtered water and nutritional pellets to keep her well fed, otherwise she'd remain in the pet store where she would meet the same fate surrounded by other fish. It worries me she was born only for me to purchase, though it seems likely.

It gives me a sense of peace knowing I have something living to care for, I hope I can keep her alive for as long as I can.

the first living creature on mars was a horse named Manuel. somehow nasa technicians missed this and when the perseverance rover landed, Manuel escaped from the front left wheel and started his own colony. now Manuel lives off space dust and moon rocks, occasionally nibbling on the rover's wheels for extra nutrition

I murdered three people at a gas station once. Originally, I only planned on killing the cashier as revenge for him murdering my whole family, but things didn't go as planned. Right when I shot him a woman walked in. She began to scream and I started to panic and shot her. Then the manager came out to see what all the noise and commotion was all about and I panicked and shot him too. He survived the first few shots but he was in critical condition and I was scared that if I called the police then I would be arrested, so I shot once more in the head. Then I drove off as fast as I could. I'll never forget the fear, guilt, and shame I felt that night.
