I often find myself making little comments or jokes about CBT. I did it with my exwife and continue to do it with my girlfriend. The situations vary. For example, maybe I'll make a quip when I'm annoyed at something (but don't really mean it) and other times I'll do it when I'm in a very obvious dark place (and very much mean it).
Both my ex and gf hate it, but in a way, I think I may be desensitizing them to the eventuality. Perhaps years of comments make it a little easier to cope if that time comes. Or is it really years of "crying out for help"? Both did/have done everything that it's in their power to help me (short of having me institutionalized). I dunno, just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone else can relate.
