I've done lots of searching for exit bag construction methods on here and most people are content with the big pieces of tape + elastic + toggle method.

Later editions of Final Exit and some other posts I've found online mention the sweatband method. I also found this case report that is from 2023 where you can see they used a sweat band.

Warning: graphic photo https://www.preprints.org/manuscript/202303.0225

I have been playing with it and it seems so much simpler than the toggle so I tried making a bag that way and it's really comfortable.

Any ideas of the risks of sweatband vs lots of tape and elastic cord?

Agree with you. I too have used an elastic for the bag.

Idk, I think it looks good, as long as it's snug enough when you pull it down.

I've read most every post on the mega thread.

I kept reading about this two finger rule and I still don't know what it means. I asked uncensored local AI and it said it should just not be super tight like it's choking you but there shouldn't be a permanent gap or anything other than the hose.

I think the benefit of the plastic bag over the EEBD hood is the pure volume of gas you can get inside. Then when you first start breathing the gas there is more there to displace the CO2 and remaining O2 vs a tight confined hood.

Along with the EEBD Hood exit valves seeming to work on pressure which is why it's generally recommend a higher flow rate in the hood. It needs to just push harder to make up for the lack of volume.

It's also possible that my head is larger than some.

I posted my experience a while ago with the sweatband vs string method. Idk what was going on but I couldn't get the string edit bag to Inflate but got the sweatband one to inflate the first time and then the second time half way. I also used argon which might have been the issue. I have up a while ago and doing SN now.

I have a tank of nitrogen so people say it floats better.

In my research I think I found one argon survivor and one argon death.

There are many examples of nitrogen and of course helium.

I should mention the survivor was because their parents discovered them. Perfect timing it seems like he was unconscious and woke up three hours later and left the hospital two days later with "no complications".

And one death story. I haven't seen anyone mention this "He was tied to a chair and his hands had been cable tied to the belt loops on his trousers."
