  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

The tone of this article is not really up our alley, but I find it fascinating that suicide rates have declined during this time. Certainly not my personal experience.

It's difficult to pinpoint why there are reports globally showing stabilising suicide rates since COVID-19, but there are several possible explanations. Lockdowns and restrictions on widespread movement may have suppressed suicides by reducing access to high-risk locations, with greater surveillance at these sites.

A sense of connectedness or shared societal worry about facing the pandemic together may have helped. Locally, the JobKeeper payment and other economic support measures are likely to have had a protective effect.

With higher numbers of people presenting to the emergency department for suicidal distress reported in many jurisdictions, it's also possible that people are seeking help in greater numbers than in previous years.

Sounds like a load of bollocks (I'm not British!). Seriously, I don't trust anything from the MSM.
My suicidal thoughts are 20x worse since 2020

Yes, I am also surprised of that.
Maybe that at the beginning everybody was a little scared. So, I was attempting less somehow.
And in a way people in isolation were experiencing social withdraw and it was kind of funny to see/hear them struggling.
I was like, ok, now you know how it is like to be alone by yourself and be desperate.
Then, when everything restarted to open, I saw a big difference because normal people were just going back to their routine.
Maybe that the peak of suicide will be after/now. We will see.

It's bollocks. Much like they said hardly anyone has the flu in 2020 everything is just being reported as likely covid deaths in the UK. I know someone who did ctb at home No autopsy due to covid, her death was deemed as suicide but the suicide was not reported as they cannot say for sure without autopsies that weren't happening during locdowns so it screws up the figures. They admitted it was likely suicide but blamed mental health due to lockdowns. Id say there's far more suicides but it'll all be covered up due to covid no one has been able to do their jobs properly.
I know of another person who thought she had flu tested negative for covid &:died at home. She wasn't recorded as dying from flu. Suspected covid on death certificate even tho she'd tested negative. The govt are covering up loads of things due to pandemic. The mental health charities report 4 x amount of phone calls in 2020-2021with suicidal thoughts Yet govt saying rates of actual suicide are down. It's absolute bollocks it's just no one is reporting them currently working from home everything is screwed & messed up.

Exactly! Just like 'somehow' the regular flu went away etc.
I haven't had the regular flu since Dec 2019 nor any of my family members or friends that I know of. Seems like the increase use of hand sanitizer and face masks really makes a difference. I usually always get sick with the flu once or twice a year before the pandemic. Thankfully I don't know anyone with COVID-19 either since we all got vaxxed early on ( April for me).

I can't say whether true or not, but even if it is, it doesn't mean there won't be issues down the road. I'd imagine thousands if not millions of people developed ptsd from the year past. The effects of that can take a long time to manifest. I mean, I hope there will be help available for those suffering the psychological effects of the pandemic after it's over.
