Yeah, I agree that it's absolutely ridiculous that the surviving partner is criminally punished for aiding even though they were both in a pact. The way the law is written is antiquated and does no good while victimizing the people who want out. Perhaps (on a slight tangent here), that might be another possible reason as to why there are people who otherwise may be pro-choice become pro-life only because of legal and liability issues?

I suppose one fear is that anyone could kill someone else and claim they had a pact. But in any case people exiting with a partner really need to build in some kind of failsafe to make sure no one's left behind to take the rap.

I'd say there were from here if they used SN or something. But they haven't released the cause of death so we can't assume. They also said ''serious injury'' as another user suggested that sounds like cutting.
