It is true, i don't know anything about your image but most heavily industrialised countries western or otherwise including Japan have higher suicide rates. It's a very sad and complex issue
The size of the country is irrelevant when it comes to suicide figures and african countries outnumber european ones in the highest places if my mind does not fail me right now the only country of tve rich part of europe with high suicide rates is belgium with 18.0 or 19.0 per 100.000 habitantsMany of those are super small countries. Africa still seems to have the lowest suicide rate when sorting by continent. And Europe the highest.
huh? lol.Lesotho doesn't sound comfy.
Wat, how is it irrelevant? If you're trying to draw conclusions about whole regions or development levels or whatever then you've gotta look at those, not specific countries. The size of the country is irrelevant when it comes to suicide figures and african countries outnumber european ones in the highest places if my mind does not fail me right now the only country of tve rich part of europe with high suicide rates is belgium with 18.0 or 19.0 per 100.000 habitants
but the population number is relevant. if a country with less than 400K people has high suicide rates, you could probably find loneliness, poor economic prosperity, job prospects, poverty etc..The size of the country is irrelevant when it comes to suicide figures and african countries outnumber european ones in the highest places if my mind does not fail me right now the only country of tve rich part of europe with high suicide rates is belgium with 18.0 or 19.0 per 100.000 habitants
This is true, many poor countries does not count data very well but the one that do manage to surpass rich one, thats already a signalI do not trust this data. I was on the same wikipedia page (in German) Syria has an extreme low rate. I doubt that. The poor countries do not have resources to count accurately.
Its irrelevant because the suicide rate is taken pero 100.000 habitans is a not affected by the raw number of a countryWat, how is it irrelevant? If you're trying to draw conclusions about whole regions or development levels or whatever then you've gotta look at those, not specific countries.
But, yeah, I wasn't necessarily saying that you're wrong about calling the "developed world has a higher suicide rate" thing a myth, it just seems to be a bit more complicated than what your pic says as well. Some developing countries have super low suicide rates, some super high. Assuming that all of the data is trustworthy.
I get that, I'm just saying that you're only finding out stuff about specific countries like this, not whole regions or development levels. To draw conclusions about those, you have to actually tally up all of the countries that make up the specific regions/levels and compare those numbers.irrelevant because the suicide rate is taken pero 100.000 habitans is a not affected by the raw number of a country
To find how development levels affect suicide, woudln't you have to look at different classes in a single country?I get that, I'm just saying that you're only finding out stuff about specific countries like this, not whole regions or development levels. Here is some data concerning to regions by wealthy take it with a bit of doubt due the yearI get that, I'm just saying that you're only finding out stuff about specific countries like this, not whole regions or development levels. Sadly im not aware if there is stats by clases, also this confirm that college makes you excellent to commit suicide hahaha just jokingWhat? Always thought South Korea ahead of Russia.
By the way, Russia and South Korea also have the two highest % of tertiary educated. No correlation of course.
To find how development levels affect suicide, woudln't you have to look at different classes in a single country?
So there is a correlations between Russia and Korea being the highest educated and both having one of the highest suicide ratesalso this confirm that college makes you excellent to commit suicide
