Suicide is not illegal - yet the police do everything to prevent it!

The police break into apartments to stop suicide and impound lethal drugs. If the police see a person in a forest, the best place to die, trying to commit suicide, they will stop him or her. If humans disappear, the police will be looking for them. If a person dies, the police will do extencive investigations. The police are fixed on human death. The police are fixed on something we all have to go though. The politicians and the society live in denial of death. Humans are supped to live, not to die, but our pets can be killed at the veterinarian to avoid suffering. The police, who have a job that involves to shoot to kill, are living in denial of death. They want us all to die of old age, to burden the healthcare with diseases and age-related ailments, they want us to live on pension money for forty years until we end up disabled in a wheelchair - the worst death. But the police have nothing to do with suicide because suicide is not illegal. It is my life and my choice - I want to live and die with dignity. It is no wonder that one million people commit suicide every year on this planet when all people can not get euthansia. It is no wonder that people on Sanctioned Suicide are still alive when they can not get euthanasia. Even if we are not afraid of death, the survival instinct will probably stop us if the dying is painful and bad, but it is possible to learn how to find the courage to die through exercises. A person who wants to succeed in suicide have to plan and prepare for it for a long time and also learn more than one method if the first method fails. And then one day, the police, who tried to stop us, will be old and disabled and then they will also want to buy lethal drugs and commit suicide.

In 2010, a Swedish man, Marcus, wrote on the Internet, Flashback, that he was going to kill himself and used a webcam. He wrote: "Alright, let´s do it." People called emergency services and the police entered the apartment 21 minutes later, but Marcus was already died by then.

Is it truly not illegal in the USA? Or is it merely de-criminalized? If it is actually legally sanctioned then perhaps someone can successfully sue if they are prevented against their will from carrying out the act.

It's legal in all 50 states. Some states also allow physician assisted suicide

In my country suicide is not illegal too. And there is a legal principle that it cannot be a crime if you help someone doing something legal. BUT suicidal people are basically considered to be insane. That's the reason why assisted suicide and killing on request is illegal and why people are prevented from suicide. I guess the ability to overcome one´s survival instinct is regarded as insane in principle.

You are completely right; the law is against nature. The only reason why we age is that nature wants us to disappear after our biological mission (reproduction and brood care) is accomplished. On the other hand, should the suicide of adolescents be prevented as puberty is definitely a temporary problem. That´s the reason why lethal drugs should not be free.

I can see no difference between suicide and euthanasia, unless euthanasia is the euphemism for killing "life unworthy of life" against the will of the victims. I don´t think there would be significantly more suicides if lethal drugs are free or if assisted suicide and killing on request were legal for all. In my opinion, the main problem is not the fear of the process of dying (hanging is better than its reputation) but the fear of being dead AKA survival instinct. As far as I know is the suicide rate in countries where euthanasia is legal not very high but in countries with bad living conditions.

It's legal to commit suicide but some of the means are not legal in some circumstances. For example, guns are the most lethal method and they are illegal to fire in most places- some people who attempt suicide by a gun and fail have gone to prison.

It is cruel how the society tries to force us to live, and denies us a peaceful exit. We will all die eventually anyway. Life is just pointless suffering. Nobody should have to resort to methods that could fail. Suicide is a personal choice after all. The society denies us euthanasia as it would shatter the delusion that many people hold that life is always worth living.

Does anyone know the specific law in the USA that say suicide is PERMITTED? I want to read that law word for word. Why would they legalize socially unacceptable behavior , like suicide, simply to prohibit it? It makes no sense. Why not just keep it illegal officially?
