I'm in the UK and guns are not a right and very hard to access - bb guns, replicas (also no longer legal anymore) and air pistols are easier to acquire but in these modern times the UK police are getting more and more armed and don't fuck about - plenty of knife suspects been shot dead in London over last few years fearing a stabbing spree or terrorism. So I am sure brandishing one of the above firearms or a realistic looking prop would get you ended if you don't immediately comply. Only downside is if you abort, change your mind, chicken out as ya gonna get a criminal record and do some serious jail time - making life even worse with the inhumane conditions in many UK prisons, over crowding, lack of staff, bulling etc.

But as I cant find peaceful means have often thought about this method, going out with a bang and having a letter on me explaining my actions urging the authorities to allow legal euthanasia to not drive people to such extreme lengths (and costing the country money and distress to police plus relatives) letting them know it was suicide by design not a terror act or anything else!

I imagine in other countries with more trigger happy police it would be even easier to exit this way.

Yeah, being tackled, tazed, beaten, cuffed, and put in jail would be a definite downside and just as likely to happen, if not more likely, than getting shot.

I can see another downside.

Can you imagine how it would feel if someone manipulated you to kill them? Cops can get traumatized, too.

I could be wrong but isn't it the case in England that the police do not routinely carry guns on the beat unless they suspect trouble. So they only have tazers and batons for protection. Suicide by cop would be easier here in NI because cops carry guns all the time and it's not unusual to see armed police walking on the street.

They would probably shoot you in the knees or something. That would hurt a lot and then you would probably end up in jail.
So not a good idea. Being in the UK means it's hard to get a gun to ctb. I know this to well.

This is a really bad idea and not even in the US would it result in a 100% time of being shot, let alone being shot dead. When you are forcing a cop/police officer to do this, you are throwing a lot of variables out of your control and while it "may" end up with you successfully CTB'ing, it can also leave a significant amount of room to error (not really dead before being resuscitated or surviving while becoming a vegetable, and then on top all your problems, legal consequences).

Even in situations where people were successful, it would be a very scary thing to go through. In short, just a very, very bad idea with too high chance of failure and additional consequences that you don't want.
