I know there's a thread for depressive black metal but I figured people here enjoy different kinds of music that deal with the topic of suicide and melancholy. Feel free to post whatever you're into.

Anyone whose into old school metalcore or hardcore in general should really get into Neglect. No pretentious poetry or metaphors, just straight up suicidal anger.

Glad you like it. It's one of my favorite songs. I'm not familiar twith Kingdom of Sorrow but I always been a Hatebreed fan.

I'm more into Funeral Doom Metal now. Yes, somebody mentioned dsbm earlier, but I remember those were the times I had at least more friends (mostly virtual one), and I was struggling through my problems and did not lose all of my faith in people. Those were the times of my first self-harm. I had dozens of new emotions like disappointment in someone. Now I feel completely dead inside. There are few feelings I can feel, yet they are not the same I had before. Now I'm done and not struggling anymore, I just think I deserve to die, that's why I'm into Funeral Doom. The tempo is very low, song's length can reach up to 50 minutes, guitar solos and blast beats are not the common thing here, it's pretty rare. I can't say it's depressive, more like mournful. I feel grief every time I listen to something like that, I recollect all my memories about those who passed away..

Anything Blackmill really but Blackmill - Friend is my favorite and so nostalgic to me I listened so much to that song when I was 17 and was close to suicide and had severe depression <3

I couldn't tell you what he's singing about because I don't understand Russian. I just like the atmosphere. Same for his other projects (Sedativ, Staruha Mha, Fatal, etc). He killed himself in 2003. I believe the other member died as well but not by suicide I think.

Life Eternal by Mayhem : Great lyrics about death written by Per "Dead" Ohlin before his suicide by shotgun (& some knife too). Vocals are by Attila Csihar because Dead killed himself before this was recorded. I love this version but I kind of wish that Dead had waited to kill himself until after the recording but I'm sure he had a reason to ctb exactly when he did.
