I have some SN that I bought maybe a couple of months ago and I still havnt taken it out of the box it came in. Could this be bad for it?

I bought mine 3 years ago and still have not opened it from its container. The best way to store it for longevity is to not open it and if you need to for whatever reason such as to test it, some people said they put theirs in air tight containers.
Mine is in its container unopened, in a bag in my closet. Untouched.

It will not be in danger for 2 years if you observe the storage conditions: a dark, dry, cool place.
