tomorrow marks the first day of therapy for me after 3 long, arduous years of depression and i don't know how to feel honestly. sometimes i feel like i want help but most of the time i don't want to change, almost as if i feel some sense of comfort in being suicidal and depressed. i guess i'll see how it goes πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈi don't really know how to format my thoughts rn so im kinda dumping everything into 1 big cluster of a post sorry if it affects readability ( Β΄-Ο‰-)

Good luck! Remember that picking the right therapist isn't always easy so don't give up if tomorrow vibe is not right. But I hope you will connect smoothly

Good luck. I'm soon on my 3rd psychologist. Im reading on art therapy on the side. To be honest, Im not a big fan of therapy. My wisdom to you is to find the right therapist, and know that it's your job to get better. That's why I dislike therapy, because in the beginning you think they have the answers. They can only guide you in the work process. But, I wish you well. I hope you get the help you seek. Try to keep seeking answers outside of the therapy room. Art therapy helps me. And art. Then you can benefit from both.

Ive been in a similar place some time ago, starting therapy after years of undiagnosed but quite evident mental problems (and around 4 years of very bad depression), for me personally, therapy didn't fix all my problems but it definitely helped me make my life a bit less miserable so I think it's worth trying to get anything good from it

sending hugs, and I hope you can benefit from it! I hope your first therapist will be a good match for you, but if you have a bad experience at first, please, don't give up entirely. There are professionals who can actually help, even a bit.
