Someone please help me do the charcoal in a tent?

I'm not sure what to do and how to do it and how to get stuff. If someone lives by NYC and wants to help me even set it up or something or talk to me on the phone and help me find out how to do it myself? I'm not even sure what charcoal is or how to get it or use it? Or how to set up a tent even...like I'm just so stupid and I feel like I need a lot of help to do something and my family is not going to help me with this like my mom or dad if I asked they don't want me to die and would even send me to the hospital if I ask about it
