Someone committed suicide in the woods where i walk

It's a beautiful place with tall dense trees. I often sit there with my grief and think what a beautiful place it is to go out. There's a long rope hanging from one of the trees; the kids swing on it. It's on a slope, so you kind of jump into it. This would have to be a long drop hanging where they tied the rope around their neck and then jumped down the slope.

It was a young man and it happened on Sunday. I was wandering around there today and saw that the swing had been "locked" to a tree with a note saying not to use it. A man came walking by and told me he was the person who built the swing for the kids and that he felt really guilty. I told him anyone can buy a rope and there are hundreds of trees to use.

I hope the young man had a quick transition. Rest in peace young guy, i wish I had your courage.

He's struggling, i could see it in his eyes - he said he's been coming every day since Sunday, just standing there at the spot.

i wish i could sit with him and try to comfort him. i know there wouldnt be much i could say or do but i fear this will drive him to be next and at least if someone went and sat with him every day then he at least wouldnt feel so alone even if he were to.

if you see him again and you dont mind, can you let him know that even though he doesnt know it, someone will be with him emotionally i hope he works through this

Yep suicide forest. There have been a few movies relating to it recently.

Anytime I hear about a suicide I wonder if we knew the person. It's sad to think people go through this process and die alone. I feel bad for the swing guy. What you told him is true, and it was in no way his fault.

Not literally there, but in spirit. Feeling like someone in the world cared.

Yeah it´s very frustrating that most people are unable to discuss the topic sensibly, so it´s a secret, but it´s not dirty =)

Same, but I worry about what it would do to the person who found me in what might originally be a place of peace for them.

I know eventually someone does find you, but is it better if a stranger finds you or someone you know?

Yeah, for sure. There are so many suicides every day, it's crazy.
