Yeah another post where I talk about how shitty humans are.

People say how advanced we are just because we can talk and think (hah most don't even think; it's someone else who does the thinking for them; example: authorities or government). They say we are a rational species. How are we rational? We consume and kill. We don't learn from history. The fact that there are neo communists and neo nazis proves it (and not only). The history of humanity is full of violences and wars that happened almost for the same fucked up reasons. Land and resources. Show who has the bigger dick. People see how difficult and full of suffering life is, they themselves say at one point in their existence ''life is hard'' but they still breed like rabbits and bring others into this world to experience the same difficulty and misery, if not worse.

Animals breed because they aren't equipped with what we were apparently equipped. They can't think ''Maybe what I'm doing is bad? Should I stop?''. But man can. But is not using the ability. Not even a second. And then, how are we different than animals? In fact we are animals ourselves. And it can be seen clearly. Acting on our instincts rather than use reasoning.

Yeah, we also created nice things. But these are outweighed by the harm we have done. To each other and to other species. To the planet as a whole. Most technology that there is today we use it for destructive aims.

Everything that we get in contact with is destroyed. We are the most destructive and harmful species. We succeded in destroying the planet, but also the other species that we had to live together with. Pollution everywhere, ice is receding, resources are becoming scarce because overpopulation because muh genes. Many species disappeared or are endangered because we destroyed their ecosystems. Forests and green areas are becoming rare because we built residential lots over residential lots because again overpopulation because, again, muh genes! We kill animals, we torture each other, we kill each other for amusement. And the list goes on. And people still keep saying we are the best. Nope, we are the most disgusting and vile species that could ever exist. We deserve our fate.

I don't understand why people need constant noise. Everywhere you go there's always noise made by people. They love noise. You go on a trip and you always can hear blasting music from the restaurants or from somewhere. Even in places that are supposed to be quiet. On a goddamn slope. I hate the fucking backgrouind noise in shops, I need quiet to have a clear mind to decide what I'm going to buy. Does it really kill to have quietness for 1 second? All this constant noise is torture. It's pollution.

*

I feel that society is going backwards instead of forward and it's worrying. They say we are advanced. What's so advanced in wanting to ban abortion at all costs? We talk about travelling to other planets but some still can't get over people of different skin color.

*

I have a feeling that overpopulation is the root cause of many problems we face today. I once had the unfortunate occassion to read into a far-right wing article that talked about a panel in the UK that said to get sterilized. When it was mentioned that it's a genocide, I stopped reading. I was about to throw up. Do these guys even know what genocide means? How is a call to get sterilized and save the planet a genocide? Caring is now genocide? I don't get it. They go on that elites want to kill us. Why would the elites want to get rid of their resources in the first place? That make them wealthier? It doesn't make sense.

Anyway, returning to overpopulation. It's a very serious issue. In many cities of the world there are traffic jams of km long. In the city I am in the traffic is really chaotic and a nightmare. You can spend up to 1 hour at a street light because there are so many cars.
Every single day green spaces are destroyed to make space for commercial lots or residential lots. In my city it's horror. There's no shadow anymore in the summer when you walk at over 30C degrees because trees have been cut down to make space for these lots. You can feel your feet burning because the asphalt has stayed in the sun for maaany hours.
Resources are becoming scarce, as I pointed out in the first part. I've heard that in India a water crisis is going to happen.
The fact that there is an outrageous competition everywhere. Competition to get a job, to get a place in an university.
We are so easily replaceable nowadays in many aspects, be it in the professional field or in relationships. You have to be a super person in order to get recognized.

Here's to another shitty post of mine. It took hours to make it because I multitasked. Apologize for any incoherence and thanks if you read it.

Technology and society have outpaced human evolution. We are not much different than hominids hiding in caves in fear of the night, preparing for the gathering and hunting of resources trying to avoid being preyed on or enslaved by those that would deprive others of theirs. But we have internet and smartphones and luxuries that weren't even conceivable 100 years ago but now we are faceless and uncaring.

One of my personal pet peeves is the history of the Corporate Charter. Perhaps it was inevitable with industrialization, but it alone has caused enormous change and grief.

This is a silly example, but 30 years ago, if I were late with a utility bill, I could go to my town hall, explain it to them, 'sure, no problem, neighbor'. Now, it's just an account that automatically gets shut off with little recourse and no care. There is no longer a real face to society. And this is not about ability to pay for a bill, just how things have changed from personable humanity into a faceless society.

Absolutely great, on point post. I agree with you.

Another thing about the human race that bugs me is how (some. many?) people claim to be so enlightened and evolved and blah blah blah yet they worship and make famous vapid idiots like the Kardashians, who have no talent I can discern nor contribute anything of TRUE, REAL value to society. And continuing on this train of thought is the larger problem of how superficial people have become in terms of appearance. Yes, I realize humans have always been superficial to a degree, and appearance/looks have always mattered (more than they should) but with social media, filters, plastic surgery and fillers etc becoming ubiquitous to the point of being normalized (I mean, I'm in my 50s and it boggles my mind how many 20somethings are ALREADY getting botox and all this shit done to their faces. I just don't understand how in all the years people have existed we seem to have become more fixated on outward appearance and looksism vs learning that appearance doesn't determine one's worth. But tell that to the "influencers" and such making $$$$$$$ off of that mentality and on the ever-increasing insecurities this mentality creates. I love watching older movies where people still looked like people, with some imperfections and flaws, instead of the overdone, overpolished, plastic surgery/filler/botox mutants that are everywhere these days.

I could also write a book about the damage, imo, that technology has done to interpersonal skills and people being able to relate to one another in real life instead of texting, texting, texting. Ugh. Through what Covid's done to being able to actually interact with or see people and I don't think there's any recovering from all this. Society is doomed. And it seems to me like the majority of people don't even care...

Humans just seem to create more suffering, which is why I see it as better for us to never exist in the first place. The fact that life is even a thing disgusts me. There is an unlimited amount of things that are wrong with this world. People can ruin the lives of others and can cause an extreme amount of damage. It is all very depressing to think about.
