Hello, I suffered severe nerve, tendon, and central nervous system damage from an antibiotic called Levaquin. Thousands have suffered similar injuries. I have everything needed for sodium nitrite method including the metoclopramide and Tagamet. I have a couple containers of sodium nitrite and I went to weigh out 25 grams on my digital scale. 25g came out to be only three teaspoons! I can't imagine such a small amount of SN being lethal? If I ever do go through with it I am scared of botching it and waking up and just making myself worse. I measured the three teaspoons on my other digital scale and it came out to be the same reading -25 grams. Am I doing something wrong? I would think it would take more than 3 teaspoons of this to be effective. Thank you very much for any replies to my question! I appreciate it.

That is the right amount.

Sorry to hear about your suffering, sending compassion.

I'm sorry you are going through so much pain.
Yes, it does seem like a small amount, but just about 3 teaspoons would be 25g.

SN is very lethal, 25g would probably be enough to kill 5 people. That's the recommended dose, though- it's quite a lot so it pretty much guarantees success. I'm sorry to hear about everything you're going through right now, I wish you the best.

i've worked in the lab before and chemicals in small amounts could be very toxic. So 25 grams is already a lot!

So is 3 teaspoons the amount that most people would typically use do people actually use just 2 teaspoons?

Honestly, not if they're determined to die. I recommend looking at all of the SN resources linked in the pinned Suicide Resources Compilation.

Does 25 grams of SN enough to kill even the strongest athlete in this sh!thole, effortlessly floating, and slowly spinning rocks (Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps)?!
Yes but how many teaspoons is the correct amount? Or tablespoons?

Yes 25g of SN is definitely lethal. I think cases of as low as 1g have proved lethal to some.
Don't be confused by comparing to prescription medication which is measured in milligrams (mg).
I think he lethal amount of say Amitriptyline is about 4g.

The correct amount is 3 measuring teaspoons or 1 measuring tablespoon. It's been previously discussed on the forum, it's usually a heaping tablespoon, but that can vary according to the size of the grains of SN. If you measured 3 teaspoons on a scale that says 25g, then it's 3 teaspoons, which is the equivalent of a tablespoon.

Thank you very much for your reply and answer. I couldn't find this info on a previous thread. I'm glad this info is out there somewhere on the site. Thanks again.

Well, I would have to use the search for the term tablespoon and then go to the effort of scrolling through the results and linking threads, or you could use the search for the term tablespoon and save me the effort. :) There was a thread by @Living sucks, I think in July or August, June at the earliest, that had the most definitive answers. In that thread, I think I or someone may have used the word imperial in reference to tablespoon measurements, so that may narrow it down. I sincerely hope this comment helps you more quickly find the info you're seeking.

But in the meantime, there may be someone who sees this and already has the information bookmarked.

A kitchen scale is pretty easy to acquire, and that way you know you're not doing too much or too little. I'm really not a huge fan about guessing with measuring spoons, but I suppose if it is the only option then it is what it is.

Thanks. I already have two digital scales and I already weighed it out on both scales. It was the same on both scales which was 3 teaspoons. My question is is that I just can't see 3 teaspoons of something being enough to be that lethal? That's the question that I have is could 3 teaspoons be lethal. It seems like such a small amount of something.

It's an extremely poisonous substance. It's a very fun and interesting read if you Google how it affects the body. Biology is quite interesting.

I'm planning on preparing multiple doses just in case. I'm pretty sure the 25g is just to prevent you from throwing up right?
