A thought. I don't believe in mystic or religious stuff and personally I believe that when you die nothing happens because you don't remember the time before you were born. But what slightly motivates me if in the end there will be something interesting? Like big white gates, god of any kind or maybe you will become a ghost and see the aftermath? What do you guys think? I' m even kinda "curious". Resurrection is kinda interesting too. But you will definitely not remember anything, maybe experience deja vus or something. Tell me what you think.

The experience probably depends on how you die. Gunshot and jumping is probably immediate. Other methods lets the brain go through a lot...go toward the light. I believe most of that happens in those few minutes it takes for the brain to shut down.
Those who are alive cannot speak to gates and God. That would be a one way trip.

All these people who claim they 'saw Jesus' or the 'white light at the end of the tunnel' are lying.
People talk shit when they've done something that others haven't. Interpretations of the same thing can change depending on who's interpreting it.
If you get 10 people to look at a rare/ never seen before elephant and ask them to describe it. They'll all talk shit and try to sound better than the next person lol

That's a good point about when your brain dies but it will be quick probably.

I just think there is nothing after this, just like before we were born. We lose consciousness when we die and that is it for us. I do not believe in any sort of afterlife or religion.

Some say that "light at the end of a tunnel" is just the way your brain shuts down. Maybe there is something scientific in that

Well, same. But again noone knows. We still have no idea how the universe started and why.

There is a YouTube channel called NDE Radio. Search NDE Radio IANDS stories, have a listen and see what you think.

Skeptics and science dismiss these stories as hallucinations and I wanted to dismiss them too. But the more stories I listened to and how consistent these were the more I found them to be at least interesting.

Neither medicine nor science understand how human consciousness works. Neither medicine nor science understand how anesthesia works because they don't understand how consciousness works.

Skeptics will tell you that these experiences are the result of the DMT that we have in our brains. Interesting. But people's DMT highs and the experiences they had after ingesting DMT were somewhat similar to near death experiences.

Somewhat similar but not the same.

Also, near death experiences are not the same as hallucinations. Near death experiences are too linear, too coherent, too specific to be categorized as hallucinations.

Also, the people who've had near death experiences, or NDEs, can remember these experiences as if it happened five minutes ago, even their experience happened 20 or 40 years prior.

These experiences come from all over the world. Experiencers range from devout Christians to confirmed atheists, from housewives, blue collar workers to doctors and scientists, from children to adults.

IANDS stands for International Association for Near Death Studies and they have a YouTube channel too.

I agree that some of these tales sound either made up or that the person in question actually was hallucinating. But, it is an interesting topic.

The ones I find most interesting are told by those who were healthy and leading happy, successful lives but when they "crossed over" they made it very clear that they did not want to go back despite enjoying life and having so much to live for.

Very interesting things have been happening since my sister passed 19 days ago. Myself, my niece and my mother have all experienced separate incidences and things whilst together. Never experienced anything like it before and I have had many family members die.

After death there is nothing in my opinion, meaning you feel literally nothing, you wont even remember you existed because you cant remember.

Death means no consciousness. No consciousness means there is nothing. No guilt. No pain. No regret. Nothing.

I mostly consider myself to be an atheist, although I have my moments of doubt, I *want* to believe nothing happens after death, and it's the theory that most makes sense to me. But, I do have my fears. If ghosts really do exist, and I'm able to see what happens after my death, that would be so fucked, because that's the last thing I want to see. My family's reaction. I really do hope I don't have to see that. Another fear in the ghost topic would be not knowing I died, and continuing to vague through Earth for years, since I've heard stories about this from mediums before, it's really scary to me. Like I said, I don't even 10% believe those things at all, but these thoughts do kick in when I'm contemplating my death.

From my experience, there is something after death and not simply nothingness. I did not really believe in this beforehand and certainly not a few weeks ago. a recent death demonstrated (to me at least) otherwise.

Need to clarify. I do not believe there is a white light, but my family have witnessed some completely unexplainable things following the death of a family member,

Impermanent transitory state until eventual re-incarnation (depending on whether or not that soul is deserving of more lesson time) or moving into another evolutionary level.

I think the same as with when a cow dies... humans are no different despite wanting hard to be.
