It requires a lot of DIY to build a guillotine. It needs a 14ft drop and a blade that weighs like 80ish lbs. The base weight of the guillotine has to be heavy enough that it doesn't tip over. Lot's of work involved.
But yes If I could build one I would and If I had access to one I'd use it. I actually love the idea of it. If they designed one that was easy to make and you could just buy the parts, pop them into place, and press a button?! It would be cool beans.
But then they'd be out here banning guillotines. LMAO
While I like the thought of a guillotine, historically, they were not effective because, most of the time, they didn't keep the blade sharp. It just crushed necks without killing
The cheapest method is still probably hanging. It's effective and once you step off, you really can't come back

But if you built one it would have a very sharp blade., as it would be the first use
Also whetstones are cheap and available
But agreed its not an easy or cheap method at all
So i was actually thinking of this recently. Does anyone have the maths to calculate this? Not just: Here's a big wooden structure with a metal sharp thing.

But we need to know the force required to penetrate a neck given the specific sharpness of the blade.
